Seems to be going downhill, mixed feelings

My fiancee and I moved here a year or so ago while it was Village at East Cobb. Like many other people who have posted here, we loved it. Clean grounds, friendly and prompt staff, etc. Then, it became Jefferson Lakeside, and things went downhill. The new staff was occasionally not just indifferent, but outright rude. We've had an upstairs neighbor decide to play booming loud music past midnight for days at a time, and it took us insisting to talk to the (apparently new again) manager to even get them to put something official in the files. Every time we'd talk to them about it, they couldn't find any record of complaints or notes in files. In addition, trash often piles up at the compactor to well over overflowing before they do anything about it. As it's right across from the mailbox, on these hot and muggy days we've had the last month or so you get treated to a lovely smell of baking, rotting garbage while getting the mail.
Several amenities seem to be broken as well, including at least one of the pools and the car wash. It's a minor thing, a car wash, but it was one of the nice things about it. We've had lots of trouble with the water lately, and we've had a water leak in our hot water heater/furnace closet for several days now with no response after several calls. After a couple calls to the police, the upstairs neighbor is mostly behaving.
About the only good thing is we haven't had any real trouble with bugs or other pests. It's a small blessing, but not insignificant :)
It's a shame to see where it's going. We love the apartment itself, it's a decent space and nicely laid out, but we won't be renewing. They've raised the rent significantly for the 6 month lease we resigned, and we expect they'll do it again. We know they aren't making their move-in goals, and unfortunately probably won't for awhile. We're afraid they may try some shenanigans with a lease resigning next time around, but we'll see.
Update as of December 31st - I've bought a house and I'm out! But... they tried to claim I didn't give a 30 day notice. Thankfully I still had my copy of the paperwork, so they apologized and processed the moveout. Nothing was ever done about the noisy upstairs neighbor and even as of earlier this month they claimed to have nothing on file about the previous complaints. Also again this month, the trash is overflowing onto the circle driveway thingy. There was a dumpster there for awhile, but after it got so overfull that it was twice the original height, they removed it. All throughout all this, I never once got a call back from the after-hours "courtesy" officer that they apparently added recently, even after reporting a car in the parking lot leaking gasoline fast enough to see drips and leave a 6ft by 2ft puddle trailing out behind it. I'm curious what their occupancy rate is currently; it can't be close to the 92% goal. There are several vacant apartments in my building. And now, one more.

I've lived here (Jeff-Lake) for a couple of years and could have written this review. You forgot that the Health Dept. had to close the main pool for a week and its still dirty most of the time. I am giving my notice this month and would advise potential renters to look elsewhere until the management changes for the better!

I lived on site when it was the Village of East Cobb and still live here now. When JPI bought Jefferson Lakeside, there was a rough few months when they switched out the leasing staff more than a few times. However, the new staff is excellent and seems to care a lot more than the previous staff.
