I currently reside at Jefferson & my two years here will be up within the next month. It is a spacious apartment, great area etc. However, maintenance almost never shows up unless you repeatedly report your problem. I found one of the maintenance people in my kitchen when he thought no one was home, he was supposed to be fixing a nasty leak from the ceiling in a bedroom... I also caught the guy standing on my furniture using it instead of a ladder! They never even leave a notice that they were in your place.
Behind our stove we found piles of dirt and property of previous tenants were all thrown and hidden behind the stove! I could go in with what we found but that would take forever!
My bedroom walls have holes in them from termites. yes, a new hole appears every so often and I have literally seen termites. For the last 2 years I've had to place a cloth under my bedroom door to prevent roaches from entering. This place is roach infested, no matter how clean we keep the place. We always have at least two bottles of bug spray at any given time. And in the summer it gets worse, because all the huge roaches are all over the place, inside, outside everywhere! Not to mention I found mold in the back of my closet!
We've had horrible experiences with bad neighbors of all races. Our upstairs neighbors threw parties weekly into the AM's and vomited right infront of my door! It was very unpleasant, disgusting, smelly you name it! We complained to the office but no one did anything about it and we had to clean it up ourselves! The walls are so thin you can hear almost everything as if the sound were coming from your apartment. The stair case is filthy, spit, cigars, trash etc I could go on forever. And also I used to feel safe enough to take a jog/walk but those days are gone! The place does not feel as safe anymore and there are more frequent cop visits.
Parking is horrible, if we leave even for 15 minutes your spot is gone. We often have to park quite far from out apartment.
My advice is, try some place else. Sad to say but most apartment living isn't that much better!
