I've lived here 4 months and they STILL haven't fixed things I was promised would be during the move-in inspection and are listed ON THE MOVE IN INSPECTION SHEET so they can't exactly claim they never said they'd fix it. After weeks of dealing with CONSTANT follow-ups via e-mail, phone and in person and being told repeatedly "oh that's not in here, I'll put it in and we'll take care of it immediately" I narrowed the list down to the absolutely necessary things. It took two more months to get the last thing on my "essentials" list fixed. Half-way through the property manager gave me a giftcard to Applebee's by way of apology.

The lease says you can put up wallpaper or paint the walls as long as you take it down or one coat of their paint completely covers it (and anyone who's ever owned any property or painted any walls knows one coat won't even cover white, but I took it to mean more 'do what you want but undo it before you leave or we'll charge you way above FMV to change it back'). That's great, but what they have DONE in the apartments is just spray that pebbly textured CEILING PAINT all over the walls so you can't hang anything or paint anything.

The stained counters are "fixed" by simply spraying high-gloss oil-based paint on them. Highly unsanitary for kitchen counters.

They had to send the cleaning crew, counter-PAINTERS, and rug people back to fix things. They sent the cleaning crew to fix stains on the kitchen floor (bad ones, not just scuff marks which are still there since it's not a cleaning issue) and a pile of extremely sticky goo under the kitchen sink -- all they did was re-clean the stove and sinks -- the goo is still there also. There was a large stain on the master bedroom carpet they would have simply left, and I'm sure, billed me for later. The counters were extremely stained and poorly painted.

I broke my foot stepping off a curb at the office. I never made any claims against them, and only mentioned it to the office staff because they were out front when my mother was driving me to a doctor's appointment the next day and asked what happened. I got a call AT WORK from their insurance company wherein I was berated, belittled and accused of fraudulently trying to get money from them. Note, I never would have even said anything to them if they hadn't see me and asked; I went to the ER and then to my doctor and thought nothing of it. I stepped off a curb and broke my foot so I went to the doctor; I considered it my responsibility. Granted they have /extremely/ uneven pavement and slate-looking stones in the area where I fell and I'm sure have had many people complain and/or fall. I've nearly fallen in that area several times and actually try to avoid going to the office simply because of how awful the flagstone rocks are there, but I hadn't done anything to indicate I was planning on even talking to them about it. I was treated like a criminal and lectured about how I had no case /when I never, ever indicated I was planning on FILING any charges/ and they had taken pictures of the area and so forth. Thing is /I never told the property manager exactly where I fell/. Only that I fell outside the office. They were taking pictures of the stone area.

I called the property manger to complain about this treatment and was lectured about how it was standard for them to have to file a report whenever someone had an accident on the property (this is true; I checked, but the attitude I got was very condescending) and so forth and tell them they took pictures of the wrong spot, it was the pavement to the side of the front of the office but still in front of the building. She seemed very apologetic when I told her repeatedly I wasn't planning on suing, but I had considered it ONLY AFTER my treatment from their insurance company and that I did not appreciate the treatment and expected to never here from them again or I WOULD contact my lawyer, would they like his name and number'

I have documentation on all of this, including the months and many, many communications it took for them to repair only half of the things I was promised would be fixed. I hadn't thought of the 24 hour maintenance thing before, but since I have a lot of the documentation in e-mails that were responded to (so they can't deny when it came in) and the papers they left (when they left them, they are somewhat inconsistent if they leave a paper when they're in your apartment or not) I'm going to take it all up to the office and request my credits. I don't expect that to go far, I'm not real impressed by anything but their ability to give you the run-around so I full expect to be denied.

They seem nice enough when you actually talk to them, but it doesn't change the fact that nobody knows what's actually going on and it takes months to get things taken care of. Their internal communication is woefully inadequate and nobody ever knows what anyone else is doing. Their voicemail system has been broken for months (they say this is why they didn't get many of my requests for updates on progress).

They have only responded immediately to a concern of mine once. When my keys were stolen I waited for the office to open then went and requested that my locks be changed. They did so immediately.

Nice people, but I'd have to say I'm extremely disappointed by the results they give and service I get over-all.

It's a pretty property (no trash issues that I've seen), the buildings are older but don't seem to be out-right falling apart. The price is definitely right.

I'd say I'm not entirely unhappy I moved here (I certainly don't have the 'get me out of this hell hole' feeling others seem to have), but I wouldn't make the same choice twice.

All that hell to go through and you think the place is not bad? I have been a renter, all over the united states for 24 years. It sounds like a hell hole to me. I am glad that I moved to Crestmont Apartments instead.
