Needs Improvement

Years at this apartment: 2006 - 2006
I moved into this complex at the end of April.
On May 12, a resident in my building was shot in the head as a result of a drug-related territorial battle. The SWAT team was called in, the shooter was not captured, and the victim and his family are doing just fine.
The following week the dumpster located at the front of the complex had caught on fire.
When I first moved in, I found a couple cockroaches in the living room. I thought nothing of it, vacant apartments tend to collect bugs and I figured having the Orkin man show up and me actually living in the place the roaches would clear out. I was wrong, now I have little (only about 2 inches long) visitors every few days.
My outside storage closet did not come with a locking mechanism, and 3 weeks after my maintenance request, the guy informed me that none of the storage closets actually lock. I now have a locking (and unlocking, oh the luxury!) door, but I definitely invite you and all your friends to come check out what the other residents have tossed in their closets.
My apartment recently received new cabinetry throughout. It is attractive, and definitely 10 steps above the standard particle board you would find in most other complexes. To the other people who live in the complex, shut your jealous whiny little mouths cause you probably don't pay as much rent as I do.
Unfortunately, upon the cabinetry installation, I noticed a leak under the sink that has left standing water on the cabinet floor. Looking at the pipes under the sink, who knew that PVC pipes came in different colors' I thought they all came in white, but I would call mine "rustic mud."
Management is friendly and has the best of intentions. Slow to act, but always with a big smile on their faces to listen to whatever concern you might have.
