I originally wrote a review several years ago for the ridge, and had only been living in the complex for 9 months. We have now been living here going on 4 years, and let me tell you that the last two years have been especially horrible. Constant water problems, electrical problems, our apartment ALWAYS smells like dirty water/mold (you can do anything you want, constantly have incense burning, air fresheners, steam cleaning carpets, and it still smells awful. It is known as "That P-ridge smell"). Everyone I know calls this place a black hole. "Oh you live in the ridge, you poor thing. I know about the ridge."

The apartments are insanely inefficient, our power bill always hovers around 170 dollars even when there is no heat or ac running. They like to increase the rent by exorbitant amounts, stating "current property values" as the reason to increase the rent. If they think they can get 800 dollars for an apartment of this condition from a brand new resident they are out of their minds. The property manager is alright sometimes, I guess maybe when she's gotten a good night's rest she is kind to residents. The other girls in the office are the same way. Kind and sweet as can be until you start to annoy them with your requests, and then the ------switch gets flipped. They have one really nice and mostly competent maintenance guy named Juan, if you have a problem hope to the heavens that he's the one to help you. The other two, I think Charlie and Derrick, are really rude and have made me feel unsafe when they've come in with bad attitudes to fix something in my apartment. They're also really rude to each other, they leave their radios on pretty loud when they are working and you can hear some pretty raunchy things, which is bad when you have a small child running around. They shut the water off at random, only about half the time do they send out notices to the residents. And don't bother calling the corporate office, they are just as unhelpful and just refer you right back to the property manager. Following the protocol stated in the lease gets you absolutely nowhere. Yeah, try submitting your request in writing and then following up and see where it gets you.

I can't tell you how many times we've had to call for simple matters to be fixed, and they are still not resolved, even after 3 years. Yes, we have unresolved maintenance issues from 3 years ago. We cannot wait for our lease to be up, we are getting the HELL out of this place. Please stay away. It might seem like a great place to live because of the cheap rent, but remember you get what you pay for.

Stay away from Plantation Ridge. It's dangerous, dirty, the apartments are crap, and the office people/maintenance staff don't give a damn about you and yours.

You are sooooooooo right. We can't wait until our lease is up either. I wish I read this before we came here.

Apparently its not as bad as you say since you've put up with 4 years of it. If it was that bad I would have pulled my family out of there at the 1st opportunity
