These apartments are really dirty, nothing gets fixed (the new management only makes things nice on the outside but does not care about the apartments inside!!!), and it is not the safest place to live (gunshots, drugs, etc)
When I moved into this apartment, nothing was fixed. The walls were dirty, so was the carpet. They never cleaned it, even though I asked them to do that many times! Actually, the apartment would have needed a new carpet, because this one was so dirty!!! Also, the lock on the door did not work properly, anyone could have pushed the door open after "locking" it.
Every time something broke it took them forever to fix it. When the AC broke down during the summer I had to stay in a hot apartment for several weeks until they came to fix it!! Later on, when it got cold, I realized the heat was not working. Took them a very long time to do that (and this was under the "new" management!!
The whole time I was living there I had roaches, even though the apartment was clean. The roaches were everywhere, in the sink, the dishwasher, in all closets, on the dishes, even in the bed!!! For sure, they did not come in from outside. They were living there!!!
One day I wanted to drive out of the apartment complex, the road was blocked. On the right side there were police cars and on the left they had about 10 people sitting on the road in handcuffs! After this incident the police was patrolling through the apartment complex and I started feeling safe again. But they stopped after a couple of days. Some nights later I woke up from gunshots underneath my window. And this was not the first time!
People living in these apartments are not very nice either. A lot of them do not have proper jobs. My neighbor next door was smoking pot all day and night long. My neighbor upstairs was waking up and down in his apartment 24/7!
Parking your car is not very safe either. I had to buy a new one after somebody crashed into the right side while it was parked there at night. The guy was probably drunk and under drugs...
Also loud music and shouting outside is considered "normal" here.
As to the laundry facility here, several times parts of my laundry just disappeared!!
One thing that happened just a few weeks ago really pissed me of. A friend who was visiting me for Christmas ordered some food (sausages) to my address there. The package arrived under her name, but my address. It was shipped with DHL Second Day, because the food was very sensitive and had to be kept cool. My friend received a message from DHL that the package was delivered (I did not even find a note or anything on my door!!) so I went to the office to get it. As they were renovating the office space, they had set up the office in an apartment. When I went there I was told that I could not pick it up, as it did not have my name on it. I told them it was food and they actually promised me they would keep it in the fridge (they had a big one in that apartment anyway). My friend arrived two days later and we went to the office to pick up the box. Turned out they kept it in their closet where it was really warm! The lady who had promised me to keep it cool was there and told me she never made a promise like that!! We were shocked about their behavior. My friend even heard the lady making the promise when we were on the phone and I told her I was not able to pick up the box. This is so rude!!! Of course we had to throw away the food, the sausages did not like the heat!
