I've been a resident at River Heights Apartments since July 2006.

Reasons NOT to rent here:

1. There's a high turnover of property management employees.

2. Utilities are very high because the water heaters, HVAC Units, and other appliances are old and in poor repair. For instance I should be using 26 therms a month, I am using 100 in natural gas, so my bill is 4 times higher than it should be. Electric is the same way. They charge a lot for water and waste removal.

3. They are understaffed for maintenance and it takes as long as 6 weeks to have problems addressed.

4. The manager, affectionately known as Rabutthead (aka Rebecca) by my children, has the habit of calling the police on residents who have the audacity to call and reasonably about the lack of service to her.

5. The regionla manager, Michelle, after we were forced to relocate because of a fire (wiring in the building, and two years before one in the same building because of the ignition of lint in a blocked dryer vent) said she was doing me a favor by providing another unit, and by not raising my rent in the process. When I was amazed at her, uhm, compassionate stance (hah!) she actually said, and I quote "I am not required to help you."

I have never in all of my life seen a more astonishing lack of professional courtesy to a community. We live up the hill from a lot of 10,000 square foot homes in an "affluent" neighborhood. We are in the best school district in Cobb County. They basically have residents by the short hairs and are happy to twist for maximum profit.

Speking of fires......they seem to be a common occurrence here. There was just another one next door to the one in the above post caused by the same thingjust a few weeks ago. Residents were never informed by management of the fire.
