We moved to the complex in 2001 and are moving this summer to a townhome in Decatur. During the 5 years we have been here, the management behaves more like a flight crew on a plane about to crash than a managment company. In the end, it's still a mess and there is not much positive impact from their actions. We have had similar experiences with maintenance, friendly people but unwilling to fix the problems. There is a leak in the roof that has stained the kitchen ceiling and mold has visibly settled in for the long haul.
The quality of neighbors has noticably decreased, with vbery load cars and very load people not populating the property. We recently traded a set of downstairs neighbors who apparently bred roaches as a hobby (only to release them later into the wild) for a group that like loud music and smoking weed. They also keep a set of puppies chained to the stairs outside the door, and the puppies change every 6 to eight weeks. Management has seen nothing wrong with this.
This place was fine when we were students, given that the price of rent was the main factor influencing our choice of places. If you want more than price, go elsewhere. If you care only about price, you can find cheaper.
IF you have any sensibilities, and little or no desparation, stay away.
