Unless you know how to fix things yourself, don't bother...

I love the neighborhood. I feel very safe and have never had any problems with noisy neighbors. The apartment layout is nice and is the most spacious you will find for the price. However, maintenance is sorely lacking. I've lived here two years and just resigned my lease for another year only because we couldn't really afford to move. The air conditioning unit has gone out too many times to count. We had leaking roof that took over 8 months to fix. These old apartments are not at all energy efficient- our heating bills were almost 300 the first winter. We bought some plastic sheeting from Home Depot and taped it up to the windows - this helped greatly to insulate the windows and lower our electricity bills. You'll have to wait a long time for anything to get fixed unless it's an emergency type problem. They ususally come quickly to fix the air conditioning unit because its so hot outside, but they can't seem to fix it permanently because it keeps going out. You are paying top dollar in rent - over 800 a month if you add water, but you will not get top service- if any service at all. If you are a handyman or handygirl, I suppose its worth the money for the location and the space. If you want something fixed, your best best is to do it yourself.
