If you are planning on moving here, think twice!! This has to be the worst place I had ever lived in. My husband and I lived here for 1 year and always paid our rent on time. Just a few days after moving in, we discovered that we had roaches. We mentioned it to the office and they told us our name was on the list for the exterminator. We never saw him come by! My husband and I are very clean so we know we had nothing to do with the roaches coming in and I don't think it has anything to do with anyone being a slob. All of the buildings are infested! Next we noticed we had a rat problem! Some guy came in to take care of it and all he did was put down a couple of sticky traps, we could have done that ourselves!! The whole time we were there, I think we caught about 6 rats or mice. Management didn't want to do anything about it though. Then we started noticing ants coming out of some crack in the bathroom. We sprayed for them all the time and they would die and the next week they were back again. Some carpet in the 2nd bedroom got torn up by one of the maintenance guys and didn't get fixed. So when we went to move out, the management told us they would fix it and it wouldn't be replaced. That meant we wouldn't have to pay for it. Well, the next thing you know we're getting a bill for almost 1000 dollars to replace the carpet. Since my husband didn't get it in writing that we weren't going to replace it, we ended up having to pay that bill. I would recommend anyone interested in this apartment to turn away and try somewhere different. We now live in the apartments across the street and they are great. Sometimes the neighbors are a little noisy, but you don't have any bug problems! And management over there is great!

What is the apartment across the street called? My daughter and I are relocating to Marietta from Chicago in July. Signature Place was high up on my list of places to look at, but now I'm not so sure! It is very important to me that we live in a clean, nice, affordable place, while I take care of my business in buying a house. Tell me honestly, was it REALLY that bad??

relocator1976...please don't do it! I live here now and I am moving in three weeks, and terminating my lease early. I've only been here for about two months and I just can't take it anymore. I'm having problems just sleeping at night because I've woken up to roaches and other bugs I've never even seen before crawling on me. The property is disgusting with dog feces everywhere, people hanging their bras and undies up on their decks, old funky mattresses and other furniture one decks. They never cleaned the apartment before I moved in...I have never felt so uncomfortable in my own home. If your still in Chicago you probably haven't seen the place and I wouldn't even bother if I were you. I think of myself as a pretty fair person, and I honestly think that this place just needs to be burned down. I'm also moving to the place across the street...it's called Jasmine at powers ferry. I won't be there for another three weeks but since its right across the street I can tell you how nice it is there. I've even been walking my dog over there instead of Signature Place because I just don't feel safe here. Jasmine is much newer, has beautiful landscaping, is very well kept, great staff (so far), a gated comunity, and the bottom line for me is that I just feel safe and comfortable there. I originally picked Signature Place because I really liked the 1 bdrm loft, the price was right and I was in a crunch and needed a new apt fast...probably the biggest mistake of my life. Please don't make the same mistake I did, why would we all take the time to write these reviews...we don't get anything out of it. We are concerned about future residents, especially those with kids. I think almost every single day how unfortunate it is for the kids who are forced to live here...this place is really bad.
