I first moved into this community in December 2000. The leasing staff were great, unforuntaly they completely changed after about a year, and had different people in there just about every time I went in. Several problems with rudeness and ignoring maintainance requests with the new people. Prior to that no complaints at all. I have a friend who works maintainance for another Gables property, and he says this one is the worst one to work for. We moved into a new apartment (same complex but in the back instead of in the front) in July 2002. None of the phone jacks in the new apartment worked (they said it wasn't their problem and we had to pay Bellsouth to fix it), the apartment wasn't ready on the move-in date and we had to rearrange our work schedules to facilitate moving. Parking is atrocious. In the back of the complex we had out stereo stolen out of our car and our neighbor had their car broken into repeatedly. Children running up and down the stairs to our entryways (no one on our side of the bldg had children so I don't know where they came from). Our electric bill in the summber was almost $300 due to a bad a/c unit which we complained about for a year before they finally came and replaced it. This was over 6 months ago and they have yet to replace the thermostat for it. We also lost a vehicle because it developed a flat tire over Christmas (we were out of town) and they towed it. Couldn't afford the fees involved with getting it back.

We didn't hear much noise from our immediate neighbors in comparison to most complexes I've lived in, so that's a plus.

I currently pay $50 less a month for a MUCH nicer apartment in a MUCH nicer area. I wouldn't go back to Franklin Rd or Gables Woodglen if it was free.
