I was very excited to move in to these apartments after visiting the grounds, seeing the model and meeting the staff. The look was very inviting but once we got the keys and began to move in it turned in to a nightmare. The frist night while we were still trying to move in a few last things, our gate cards were not properly activated when we got them. This was solved easily the next day at the leasing office, okay. Then there is a serious bug problem here. We had to spray down the apartment to keep the millipedes and roaches away. So now I have dead millipedes every morning to invite me into my kitchen. Then on about our third day we decide to buy a washer and dryer. The delivery man told me that I would have to get maintenance to get the rusted on hose off the washer spicket. So I did so and the maintenance man forced the hose off and proceeded to say UH OH from the bathroom. I said uhoh what' he then said, call the office and tell them to turn the water off. I was standing in the kitchen and after I got off the phone I began to see water coming down the hall. MY APARTMENT GOT FLOODED! half of the carpet in the living room and both bed rooms got damaged and we had to have an industrial dehumidifier going for two days and keep our air around 72 degrees so no mold would form. So instead of setting up our apartment in the first week we had men in and out repairing the apartment. We talked to Management about compensation for the trouble that these repairs have put us through from us missing work to babysit maintenance (think we would trust them to be alone, pish. if i wasn t here during the flood who know what would have happened) to having our air lower than we would have ever had it. We basically had to be very stern with management and finally got a $100 of the next months rent, okay. So next there is a serious parking issue in our area of the apartments. People park illegally all the time due to the lack of spaces close to the buildings. So one day we come out to my boyfriend s car and see a notice for him to move his car cause it was illegally parked. Ok so we move it into a parking spot and two days later, IT GETS TOWED FROM A PARKING SPOT!! We complain to corporate and finally get the car back and the car is damaged and has items stolen from inside of it. We tell management that we need to be compensated and they just tell us that we had two parking violations against us. The car had leaked power steering fluid one day (which is only 2 cups of clear liquid by the way) They said the car was leaking all over the parking lot thus it was deemed inoperable. WHAT' (which it wasn t it was just harder to steer and was to be repaired the day it was taken away. It is amazing how they claim the curdosy officer sees all this when there are more than five other cars currently parked for more than a month with flat tires and broken windshields and they have never been towed. We are currently still fighting this and very upset we are in a lease until Aug. 2010. Also we are still waiting for the dry wall to be replaced in our bathroom due to a leak that was caused by the apartment above us. Currently 4 days and counting in the wait for the dry wall to be replaced from the water damage. The management here are terrible and the sad part is that all this happened from middle of July to the end of Aug. all of this in an month. Also the noise issue people have mentioned before about being able to here people upstairs stomping around is True! and the airplanes are a bit worse than I thought they would be (last time I live by an air force base) Also the front gate is broken more days than not. So I was not surprised when a SHOOT OUT occurred during the daytime! This dream is truly a nightmare. Don t let the low price fool ya its not worth it.

Manager's Response

From: Manager Date: 12/09/2009
Hello all future and current residents of Westminster Square, I would like to take the time to acknowledge and appreciate your comments, concerns and compliments. GFI takes customer service seriously and uses the constructive criticism and feedback to make each and every residents experience at Westminster Square better on a daily basis. As part of the property's beautification project we have completed a conversion from centralized gas boilers shared by all apartments in each building to energy efficient electric water heaters in each apartment! This will help in adequately providing hot water for longer periods of time in all apartments as no one is sharing hot water heaters. As wonderful as the finished product of the project is it didn't come without inconvenience during the process and we greatly appreciate all of our current residents patience during the difficult conversion process. We do truly apologize for the inconvenience it caused. If you weren't aware, this project was just one of the changes since GFIs acquisition date of May 14, 2008. I would venture to say that 99% of these changes were for the better. Due to the condition of the community when we took over, it has definitely been challenging to bring everything up to par. We have implemented several new programs and ideas to correct the property's efficiency, and I can assure you they will be corrected. Also to answer some of the other questions in the previous posts, YES we do have 2 Courtesy Officers that live on site and they are both Police Officers with the local departments, YES we do have several amenities to offer such as a Newly Renovated Fitness Center, 3 Swimming Pools (2 under renovation), 3 Lighted Tennis Courts, A fully stocked lake and viewing platform, Playground area, Cyber Cafe and a Puppy Park. Remember, we contact 100% of our residents every month during our ??How We Doin??? follow up calls, so if you are having issues please voice them at this time and we will take care of them. Thank you all for your time and understanding. We really appreciate you all as residents at Westminster Square!
