I couldn't move away fast enough

Preston Creek has spent a lot of money to wow you when you look at the place. It is gated, but what is the point of having a gate if it breaks every other week and then takes 3 weeks to fix' After one week of living there it was clear that the builders were determined to spend as little money as possible when building the place, but also trying to make the place look like it was very expensive. The result is a comunity that looks very expensive the first time you see it, but after the details sink in you start to see how cheap it is. If I sat still in the apartment to try and read, I could hear the upstairs neighbors having their conversations, in their normal speaking voice too. I couldn't understand thier words, but tone of voice bled through the walls loud and clear.
Staff was unprofessional, and untrained. One month I received an eviction notice on the 4th day for non-payment of rent, there was just one problem, I had paid my rent 6 days before. After talking with the manager, he found my check stuck in a drawer. Told me that the letter was sent to me not cause they didn't get my rent but because he wanted to talk to me about my lease...I guess there isn't a better way to get me to come to the office than a threat of eviction' Maintenence staff wa unreliable. One month work would be completed correctly and timely another would require multiple phonecalls to get a response, and workmanship that a 5 year old could outpreform. Ok, maybe that's a little unfair...the kid would have to be 10 years old.
To intice me to stay another year their re-up letter said that my rent would be increased by 'only' 150 dollars a month. I know this is partly because I received a concession on my first years rent, but do they really expect anyone to say yes to that' With the concession I felt I was still overpaying by $100/month. I sent them a letter saying that I would only consider staying if they lowered my rent by 150 dollars, but to be honset, I wouldn't have stayed even if they did.
2 months after I moved out I recieved phone calls and letters from a collection agency saying that I owe Preston Creek money(for what' I don't know I'm still waiting for a response to that). I know that all of my bills were paid for and that this is a total mistake and even if it isn't, it is completly unprofessional for this management staff to make no attempt to contact me(they had my telephone number and forwarding address) and instead go straight to a collection agency.
Every one's experience is different, and I do know people who still like it there, but anyone who asks me will be told to avoid this place like the plague.
