THE ABSOLUTE WORST LIVING EXPERIENCE

In July 07, at 19 years old, I moved out on my own. Excited and eager to start my own life I moved into Woodlawn Park. Upon signing my lease, I was taken care of by a very helpful manager by the name of Gandy. I was conveniently escorted to my new home and it all went to hell from there!! After moving into the apartment I was bombarded by a list of maintainance needs. After many attempts to contact someone in the office I was FINALLY able to put in a maintainance request--- which NEVER got taken care of.
By October 07, the complex had been through I believe 3 managers and a long list of employees, and I had experienced a extremely inconvenient living environment!!!--- From obvious drug trafficing, trash piling up at the dumpster on a weekly basis, trashy landscape, furniture and belonings in the parking lot for days at a time(from eviction cases), to rude and unhelpful employees and most of all IMMATURE AND VERY UNPROFESSIONAL MAINTAINANCE STAFF!!!!
Around mid October 07 the maintaince guy (LOUIS) moved into the apartment below me. Given that this is an apartment complex we are talking about here--- Louis seemed to be uncomfortable with the noise that was generated from "heavy walking and loud music/tv" ( which I would like to add is completely understandable considering I LIVE UNDERNEATH SOMEONE AS WELL!!!!--- and feel that unfortunately that is something that goes along with living in an apartment.) One friday night around 9:30, while I was home with a girlfriend of mine, the door to my apartment was forcefully opened unannounced. Not expecting anyone, I cautiously went to the door to find Louis standing there. A little caught off guard--- I asked him what the problem was. Louis proceeded to UNPROFESSIONALLY AND DISRESPECTFULLY cuss me out and threaten me due to the fact that he felt my radio was too loud. (I still haven't figured out why he expected me to comply cooperatively, given that he has NEVER been cooperative as a MAINTAINANCE EMPLOYEE and DIRECT REPRESENTATION of the complex and not to mention that I have never complained of the OBNOXTIOUS motorcycle riding around and around the parking lot)---- So now by this point I am in a uncomfortable security position with not only a resident but an employee of a complex that I live in who is suppose to be there to make living MORE comfortable not complicated!!!---- Now if all that isn't frustrating enough--- recently I was threatened to be killed by an obvious IMMATURE resident living across the hall--- who, to my knowledge, is the "significant other" of the COURTESY officer of the complex who by the way is "best buds" with Louis living below me. TRUST ME IT'S NOT VERY COMFORTING!!! Now I'm sure we can all put two and two together and realize the conflict of intrest here!!! With all of this going on I obviously have consitantly complained with believe it or not ONLY ONE RESPOSE FROM THE SO CALLED MANAGER--- and all she had to say was "can't we all just get along--- we do have to live together." I NEVER RECEIVED ANY COMPENSATION FOR MY STRESSFUL UNSAFE LIFESTYLE THAT I HAVE BEEN FORCED TO PUT UP WITH!!!
With all that being said I now have 3 1/2 months left and I still am left with many concerns!! I would not recommend this apartment complex to someone if they could live there for free!! And I hate to know that due a failure to research on my behalf--- I have to move my belongings into another apartment complex in hope that this time around it will be a much better experience. When looking for apartments I suggest that you DO NOT MOVE INTO A COMPLEX OWNED OR OPERATED BY SIGNATURE MANAGEMENT. And PLEASE--- comply with the "managers" request in response to all the negative comments--- and go see for yourself--- don't be fooled by the appearance of the buildings themselves--- just know that once you sign that lease be prepared to live in hell for at least a year!!! and there's no way out!!!

Lucky for me all the maintanace people are afraid to come near my apartment because they're afraid of my dog. She's not aggressive she just looks scary. The only time they come over we have to arrange it for when I'm home.... and I stand in the office and demand that something gets fixed until it happens. Hey, if thats the only way to get it done, then I'll do it. At least the new old guy that works here looks like he wouldn't break in and cuss you out. If you really wanted out.... you would just have to pay an extra month's rent. I guess thats the price of freedom.

I totally feel the same way. My lease is up in July and I am getting the "HELL" OUT....The management team has changed three times. I was so upset to see GHANDI leave. Woodlawn Park....need to get the low income ghetto folks out.
