Go to the Newnan-Times Herald online and search "Lakeside Apartments". You will find, murder, armed robbery, arson, property destruction, etc... and that's just in the last 4 months!

Management never bothered to inform the residents about the recent murder in the townhomes and it took 4 robberies by gun point before they bothered to put out a "notice to be careful".

Lakeside may offer the best prices for the size/amenities offered, but when you are afraid to go out of your apartment after dark it's just not worth it.

There are recognizable "gangs" roaming the complex. One of the 2 gym/pool sites is only open from 8am-5pm because vandals have taken to destroying everything not nailed down, after hours.

The main gym rarely has more than 2 functioning tv's at one time (out of 10!) and management simply says "the amenities are a privilege not a right".

Pay a little bit more and move someplace else because Lakeside has become the slums of Newnan and I'm getting out before I'm carried out feet first by the coroner.

First of all CRIME happens everywhere. Secondly what "gangs"??? Where are you getting your information from??? I suggest anyone reading these reviews check out the area as a whole and compare what is happening at Lakeside with what is happening at neighboring communties and then get back to me. Drive through the community yourself!!!Unhappy residents often exaggerate and happy residents rarely write reviews. Lakeside is very large so the handful of ugly comments here are no real representation of the majority.

First -- yes crime happens everywhere, but the concentration of crime occurring at Lakeside is higher than average for the area. Check the newspaper, call the local police, it's all a matter of public record. Second: My information comes from a Police Office, who obviously would know what they speak of when it comes to the gang activity at Lakeside. Third: I never said I was an unhappy resident. Lakeside has great prices, I've never had problems with maintanence and the apartments are nice and roomy. The leasing staff are not the greatest, but that is a common complaint from any apartment complex. No, MY issue is that I fear for my very safety and with VALID reason. Driving through the community will do a prospective resident NO good because you rarely see or hear what goes on in an apartment complex until AFTER you've moved in and lived there a little while. That is why this review system is here. For those with good and bad experiences to share with the public what they have encountered. I had no serious issues with Lakeside (despite the bad reviews posted here during the time that I moved in) but that has changed considerably and MY experience there now is one of fear for my very safety. Prospective (and even current) resident have a right to know and the leasing staff is NOT going to disclose this kind of information on a voluntary basis.
