I lived here with my boyfriend for a year. When he first moved in, everything was great - new apartment smell, every issue that we had was resolved immediately. Fast forward to 9 months into the lease and it starts getting bad. We had roaches that could not be killed by a simple visit from an exterminator. Often we would come home and just notice that various items were not where we left them, so that was the indication that maintenence had been there, even when we were not expecting them. What was probably worst of all was when we had a ceiling leak (we lived on the bottom floor). I called maintenence as it was definitely an emergency as the living room floor was a pool and their resolution was to take the large trashcan that is out by the mailboxes and place in our living room for the next week. We asked them to fix the ceiling AFTER the problem was resolved in the upstairs apartment that caused it. They simply came in and patched one area of the ceiling with the most shoddy workmanship passible, not even covering the entire damaged area. After we told them how tacky it looked, someone came out and made it look even worse. We just left it be. The outlets did not work in the dining room and the sliding closet doors were hanging off the hinges. Oh, and go ahead and be close with your neighbors, you will hear everything about their life anyway, so why not be friends!
