good and bad specifics

Years at this apartment: 2003 - 2004
I moved to Oakwood Vista last year when there were very few residents.
First, my favorite things: The grounds are well kept, the apartments are nice inside and out(esp. the bathrooms), diverse tenants- most of which are quiet, and the ammenities are nice (2 tv's in the gym, nice washroom, etc.) Everyone who comes to visit thinks they are great. The tenant screening over here is better than that of my last place of residence- most residents seem to be single professionals or working class families. Of coure there are a few noisemakers. Not too many. Very few children- most play together outside at around 5:00, so make sure that this is not your naptime.
Now, the bad:
The left turn you have to make right in front of a huge bush where cars are coming- be careful.
They tore up the pool to do who knows what right before summertime''!
The apartment complex behind Oakwood Vista does attract some shady characters- I will not lie. Takes away from the ambiance.
The construction crew always here to build new townhomes on top of the hill-which means the security gate is open most of the time. But, hmm... for some reason stays open at night-90% of the time. If this is a priority for you, you may want to inquire about this to one of the leasing consultants. That is my NUMBER ONE COMPLAINT. If we are going to have a gate- it should work. People move here thinking they are going to have a certain level of security, and if they don't get that, they wil move.
The ladies in the leasing office are okay- could be more PERSONABLE and GENUINE. Yes,people do pick up on that. Marlene was great when she was here- sincere and caring. But, she no longer works here. Although the lease consultants are responsive, I agree with what some of the other tenants wrote about them having a little attitude when it comes to some things. Umm.Hmm.
The rent is above average; make sure you can afford it and read the lease agreement carefully, because early termination is expensive.
Everywhere you go will have some problems, and Oakwood Vista is no exception. I am not sure if I will renew my lease. I have a couple of months. I think my last apartment complex got desperate and let anyone and everyone with some cash on hand move in.
I will remain at Oakwood Vista all of the following take place:
1. The gate is fixed.
2. The tenant screening continues to be on the level that it is on.
3. I am given rent incentives.
Although many of my dislikes about this complex pale in comparison to the negative postings of some different apartments that I have read, I know that Oakwood Vista can be improved upon.
Overall, I have enjoyed my stay.
