At the beginning, I really enjoyed living here. However, when the new management came in, things went down hill. My roommate and I had a run in with one of the staff of the mangement company. He would not let us in and we had our access card. He parked his car in front of the gate and wouldn't let no one pass. We had to call the police on him. When we finally moved out they did not give us our deposit back. Why' She stated because I did not give them enough notice that I was moving out. However, I had cleared everything with the management company and they said i could move out with only a 1 month notice. She would not take this for an answer. Still no deposit. The apartments are nice, but not worth the hassle.

I agree w/ you, the management are snakes in the grass, I never received any notice from management in reference to my lease coming to an end,my leased ended on 7/31, luckily i delivered my notice on 6/4 only 3 days behind a 60 day notice. to beleive the nerve of these people, they wanted to hold me over for august at market price plus an addl $100, totaling $1000 just for august. I fought that charge, but oakwood manage to get me at the end, stealing my $500 deposit, stating that i had a rug stain in my bedroom and the cost to replace the carpets was $500, crock, if there was a stain in the bedroom replace the bedroom carpet, not the entire apt, and the cost the exact amount of my deposit, crock, I going to contact the corporate office, I'll feel better know the money went towards the corporate office rather than adrian pocket or the --- dude in the office. If their is a way I could get my deposit, I'm all ears, cause I work hard for that $500 dollars to throw away..................

I left Oakwood Vista several months ago, but like you, they kept my deposit (and said I owed them several hundred dollars) because the carpet needed to be replaced. There was nothing wrong with the carpet when I left. The corporate office contacted me and even sent me to collections after just two weeks. I wrote them a nasty letter stating all of the horrors I experienced in their hell hole apartment and that I have no intention of paying them. I haven???t heard anything from them since. They will NEVER get a another cent from me. But unfortunately I will never get my deposit back either. They are desperate liars and crooks. Thankfully the nightmare of living at Oakwood Vista is over and I now live in a safe, clean, well maintained community.
