the complex is fine, my apartment was noise free, the office mgnt are snakes ***beware*** they will try to take your deposit money when you your lease is up any way possible, i made a $545 deposit lost $400 due to a little spot on the carpet, Oakwood stating that they had to remove the entire 900 sq feet of carpet for the entire apt due to a spot, then instead of receiving the remaining $145 only receive $90, for a computer error on their part, moved out on august 1st received part of my deposit until november, and is still waiting on the remainder for december. If you do move in, mark you calender on the 60 day notice that you need turn in on if your going to continue to live their or not (GA Law requires only 30 days). I never received a notice from the complex alerting me on my lease expiring, luckily I took the initiative to call my self, 51 days prior, I had to fight them hard not to be penalized an extra mth at market rate, for my letter of departure only being 9 days behind a 60 day notice. one reason why i left and many other people after is because the price will go up by $100, my original lease was at $635 for a 1 bedroom for 12mths, after my lease the renewal was $845. Well that was my experience on oakwood vista, if you decide to move in, remember these things, mark your calender for the 60 notice since the complex would never send you any reminders, and try to charge you an extra mth at market value. When you turn in your keys after departure, do a walk through w/ the management, even if the staff (latino girl or dark --- guy) states that okay it not neccessary, because what the complex is going to do is going to find the simpliest thing to charge you, so they could take your deposit.

It has been a couple of years since I lived at Oakwood Vista..it was quiet when I was there...there were kids that played on the outside but never in the breezeway...I left because I purchased a home, not because of anything management did.

I hope and pray you read this review before signing the lease. My experience with Oakwood Vista was the beyond bad, it was an absolute nightmare! I would not recommend this property to my worst enemy. Like so many others who have written a review here, my deposit has been kept and I've been sent to collections for additional monies to replace an entire carpet, even thought there was nothing wrong with it when I left. If you move in here, upon leaving make the staff do a walk through with you otherwise they will try the same crap with you. Speaking of the staff, they are unprofessional and incompetent. The apartments are cheaply made and the appliances will break constantly. And there is of course the severe roach problem. I can???t imagining leaving nyc to move to GA and have to put up with roaches. My old apartment was INFESTED with bugs and you???ll notice others on here saying the same thing (look at the responses to posts). Maybe there isn't such a thing as a perfect apartment complex, but there are so many better places than oakwood vista. I only wish someone had warned be before I signed the lease. So take heed! DO NOT MOVE TO OAKWOOD VISTA.

Dear Mr. NY, hope you move was plesant to the great state of Georgia. I currently live at Oakwood Vista and have enjoyed my experience here. I too moved from out of state and found it to be a good location for my first time living in Atlanta. The have had a recent staff change, but so far so good. As far as pests....I see other people have commented on this but honesly, just like any where else in the world if your a clean person and do not leave any food crumbs for bugs to find you should not have a problem. Pest control comes out if you ever need them anyways. In addition, its common sense that if you leave an apartment trashed at move out and damage the carpets your most likely going to have to pay for it or have it taken out of your deposit. You might want to request pictures of how the comments above left their apartments---I would take everything with a grain of salt. Its a nice place to live, I have seen some great improvements and hear there are more to come. You have obviously found things to be plesant so far if you still plan to move to Oakwood.

Dear Anonymous (posted 1/18/08) I'm one of the residents you are referring to with the roach problem and who's deposit was kept (for no reason). I DID NOT HAVE ROACHES PRIOR TO LIVING AT OAKWOOD VISTA and now I'm in another community and ROACH FREE. The problem was NEVER my cleanliness, it was with the grimy location. As I mentioned before, maybe not all of the apartments are infested, but mine was. Funny though I haven't seen a roach at my current apartment EVER. As for the carpet, there was nothing wrong with it when I left, but it's my word against theirs. They did not perform a walk-thru when I left and they wont be getting any more money from me. My experience was the absolute worst ever, but maybe others will have a great experience, so that???s good for them.

I am from out of state and planning a move to GA. I 'heard' that no matter where you live in GA, you will have a roach problem (in varying degrees). So I would like to know from those of you who live in a complex where there are NO roaches... what is the name of the roach-free complex!?

Hello Everyone, Well its be a year since we moved from New to Georgia. And i must say that some of you was right. We did move in the oakwood vista. And the first 6mos was ok. THEN?? They started moving in people from i don't know. Everyday and night Blasting their car radio making people car alarms go off I Used to live in Bldg 14 and a mother/daughter moved in on the 3rd fl and everyday their was fighting slaming doors the daugther having some friends come over hangout in the brezzeway or the parking lot blasting music from the car etc,etc.. Well my wife who worked at night and with a short fuse of people, who disturb her sleep. Got tried of it. Went to the office spoke with the staff and didn't do nothing.. And the (Staff)i don't really think they know whats going on.. 2 Ladies and i --- gay who claims they stay on top of things. And since we didn't renew our lease they tried to find a way to make us stay.. My wife put in our 60 days notice in writing. Just let me make this short.. We made sure the apt was the way they had it. NEXT TIME WE WILL LISTEN TO YOU!! But never had a roach problem.. And it always good to live on the 3rd floor.
