This is by far the nicest apartment I've ever lived in - I had to move into a less expensive apartment after my roommate got married and I regret not just sticking it out for the extra $$. Yes, the floors are thin and you can hear the upstairs neighbors. Yes, there was a shootout (in my building!) which I think could have happened anywhere. The landscaping is immaculate, the management is extremely professional, and I can't say enough about Joe, the maintenance guy who lives there. The apartment itself was perfect, just like new and included a garage and washer/dryer. I would go back in a heartbeat!
