under new management

During our stay, the complex was sold to out-of-state owners who have been improving the property: painted exteriors,re-roofed buildings, replaced exercise equipment and sealed/remarked drives/parking areas. However; despite on-site management, trash overflows on weekends, one or both pools have been closed most of the summer, new exercise equipment is broken, laundry machines don't function properly, private access to facilities is not enforced, locks are broken, and previous annual events have been discontinued. It has been our observation, that the new owners are going forward with improvements to the property without making sure they have adequate maintenance/support staff to maintain the property. Something is not right, two complete maintenance teams have left or been let go. It takes a long time for repairs to be made. Even though exteriors have been repaired/painted, gutters overflow causing rot and mold problems. Replaced HVAC units are left in the bushes around buildings. Landscape waste is discarded into the woods surrounding the complex. In defense of the management team, they are trying and hopefully things will improve quickly.

Yeah, there have been some issues this summer with the place, but some do have legit explanations. The pool by the gym had roots growing into the pipes or something, and PTC has some stinky rule about pools having to have a bathroom to be open.
As for the exercise equipment, if people who lived here would show the stuff more respect it wouldn't get broken in the first place. I've noticed a lot of my neighbors are very... nonchalant about what they do with stuff, and no wonder the pools and stuff have to be closed so often.
I've had several conversations with mgmt and maintenance, and I know they're trying too. It's been a hot summer, and they're trying to keep AC's running, and still complete renovations. Some things could be run a little smoother, but personally I think Balmoral is just filled with a bunch of snotty people.

I am not a renter of Balmoral but I did view the property this week as a real prospective tenant. Outside they look pretty nice but inside I felt as if I stepped into 1972. Cabinets are old and worn out, fridge had only 2 shelves left in it. Carpet may have been from 1972, obviously they've been steam cleaned to death. Funny smell of the place and in the main office. I can't believe the management could look me in the eye and tell me how beautiful the apartments were knowing that I was about to view them in less than 5 minutes. I see they've painted the outside but what about the inside? I can't even begin to think I would be paying $800-1000 a month to live in Bates Motel. Plus, I was looking at what they said was the nicest apartment they had. No thanks.

I lived here and agree that the place needs a major overhaul. Sure they are spending all this money to fix the outside, but how about updating what people actually pay for. I remember our stove was older than I was and had rust spots. Other places are charging the same $800 a month, but have new cabinets, toilets and light fixtures. Balmoral: How about trying to move away from the 1900's and into the 21st century.
