pros and cons, mostly pros

Years at this apartment: 2004 - 2006
i have lived here for almost 2 years, and my experience here has been mostly pleasant despite of construction traffic that started right after i moved here.
pros:
-maybe cuz i live on the 3rd floor, no bug problem whatsoever...occasional spiders, but nothing that bothered me.
-walls are not thin at all. i played music pretty late at night, but my neighbor who is right next to my stereo said he never heard anything (of course i don't blast music too loud either).
-very good on-site, on-call maintenance. i had to call the maintenance at the crack of dawn once...on-call guy came fairly quickly for being called out so early in the morning.
-cozy, nice neighbors, no parking issues, no security issues.
-two pools and a clean A/C-ed gym. pools are not sparkling clean, but they are not scummy. a bunch of kids come and play.
-overflowing trash compactor not much of an issue...unless you live right by it. even then, it's much cleaner and pleasant than what i've seen in the past elsewhere.
-walking distance to super walmart...very convenient.
-everything works really well (tho i can say nothing about the dishwasher since i never used it)
-tiled bathroom is so spacious with a garden tub!
and onto the cons...:
-apartment pricing. it really depends on your lease option, but mine went up significantly at the end of my lease term. it probably has something to do with Peachtree City voted as one of the nicest city to live in.
-i don't like the fact that water/sewer bill split among the apt complex...i can't tell how much water i've used. and the fee doesn't change even if you were out almost a month on a business trip, not using much water or sewer system.
-gym (supposedly) closes at 11pm...but i don't think it gets locked. it would've been nice if it was open 24/7.
-not really a big deal, but i would love to see the pool water cleaned more often during the summer time!
-some of the leasing office people might not call you back even if he/she promises that he/she will get back to me today/tomorrow/soon.
-paperworks being lost. long story short, my lease renewal was a hell, and i am paying about $80 more in rent since march of this year, when it could have been much less. make sure you hand it to someone, get a receipt of some sort or make a photocopy of what you've submitted if you REALLY want to make sure. i heard from my neighbor that his friend who used to live here sent the 60-days notice to vacate along with a rent check stapled to it. later, the leasing office said that they never received the 60-days notice letter, even though the check has been cashed. sure, human errors do happen, and things get lost here n there...but you should never depend on the staff here to keep track of your papers or you'll get really frustrated later on.
-traffic everyday almost all day except at night...but that's probably about to change when they finish with constructions!
all in all, i loved living here, except it's too expensive to live here by myself, and i go to atlanta way too often...so i'm moving out. if you're lucky, you can find a less-expensive property here, but i heard that they are charging $1500 for a 3 bdrm apartment (which is pretty ridiculous IMO, even in Peachtree City). from hearing my coworkers' stories about their experience with AMLI (both of them), summit/camden is much nicer and less expensive. management will take care of you, and the fees make sense (unlike AMLI), no bugs (unlike balmoral village), you just have to be extra careful with time-sensitive paperworks...
