Ashton Landing is not all what it appears to be. Lets start from the top to the bottom. The apartments are on the small side especially the bathroom an kitchen and the dinning area. The walls are thin and you can hear your neighbors at there nost intimite times try explaining that to the kids. If your neighbor should ever move out and they have roaches they will move in with you. I spend a small fortune in roach spray when it is supposed to be pest controlled yeah right. They dont come on a constant but is part of the rent you pay.Oh yeah do you know you pay water and sewer. I am going to have to by all new furniture when I move because I dare not transport any roaches when I go. I also must say that the overwhelming racoons pose a safety issue they love hanging out especially in the summer along with the wild hogs by the dumpster along wit the foxes and snakes. Next is the trash issue if maintenece is gone heaven help us the grounds turn into an eyesore especially if you are not nasty people who sit trash in the breezeway for days if not on the ground out side. The most attractive feature is the pool if you could use it. It doesnt open on time and it is always closed and used as a penalty because some people cant controll their kids. So most of the time it is locked why' I pay good money I should be able to use it. But when it is open all of perry is in it. For some that is the solace and family time activity in the summer. The playground is old and outdated. and rusty it needs to be replaced an updated the kids have nothing to do they need to make it more kid and family friendly. There is not a park around here so the kids will tear the place down. Then to try and stop that now the parents of the good kids have to suffer under that blanket once again. We recieve bull ticket which leads to eviction if they go out side unaccompanied weather they are just walking around just to get air. Then the parking the only way you get good parking is if you dont work. If you do you better put on walking shoes. People have turned what used to be a lawn into a parking area right by the building what a hazzard is that. God forbid the car catches on fire. But that is not being dealt with yet. The staff is friendly though and they do try, but the owners need to invest and stop the foolishness. But I would not move here if I had kids

What do you expect from income based housing?

Ashton Landing Apartments are not based on income. They are under a program call Low Income Housing Tax Credit. And they accept Section 8 vouchers. The rents are kept lower than Market rent for low to moderate income families. Ashton Landing has a pool, playground, a cardio fitness center, laundry center. Yes, the trash is a problem, but that is because no one teaches their children not to litter, and will not supervise the children like they are suppose to as listed in the lease. If the parents would take the household trash to the compactor and not send small children then the animals would not be able to get to the trash, which means they would not be around. When the children take out the trash, they just leave it where they want. The parking is an issue in front of one building out of five. Any one who parks in the fire lane, on the grass or in a handicap parking space (who does not have a sticker or handicap tag)gets a towing warning. And if you park in the handicap space and a police officer sees it, they have been told by management to ticket this offenders. The pool is opened in the morning after it has been tested and cleaned. It is not used as a penalty, because that does not work. So pool times were set up, one for adults, one for children under six, and one for everyone. Residents have also be given the authority to call 911 if non-residents are in the pool without a resident as a guest. Pest control comes once a month a visits every apartment, the company they use has been changed since 2007.
