Nightmare on Webb Road

I would NOT recommend Belmont Landing apartments. It's truly an example of getting what you pay for. Their rent is lower than other complexes in the area, but it's not hard to figure out why once you become a resident.
What's good: The apartments are plain, but they're functional. If you're looking for creative landscaping and lots of amenities, this is not the place for you, but the apartments are okay. That's about it for the good stuff. If you're one a budget, this might be for you. BUT! I'm a single woman and do not feel safe there. I would not encourage single gals to move move there as I'm trying to escape myself!
What's bad: The managment is unpleasant and unprofessional. They have one set of office hours posted and on their voicemail, but they open whenever they feel like it. Another poster mentioned that there have been murders (two that I know of) in the complex over the past year along with several break-ins. Has the management issued any kind of letter to reassure residents' No. If it weren't for the AJC and my neighbors, I would have no idea these events happened! Also, most apartment complexes give you the courtesy of a notice when pest control or anyone else will enter your apartment. Does that happen at Belmont Landing' Nope. Also, other complexes offer some kind of resident appreciation gesture, like a free cookout or free goodies bags or something to say "thanks for renting from us". Does Belmont Landing' No way! Plus, the people in the leasing office always seem incapable of answering questions about anything! They just pass the buck around. I can't tell you how many times I've had questions or complaints and been given an endless run around. They're never apologetic about anything that's their fault! For residents like myself who drive into the city for work, it's difficult to catch the office open during the week, and they seem to take advantage of that! These jokers have no idea about quality customer service.
Maintenance is slow to respond, but that could be the fault of the awful staff, too. They have an emergency maintenance line that no one answers. The appliances are old and probably need replacement, but they would rather do makeshift repairs. I have something broken now but just don't have the patience to call again and again to get it fixed.
Some of the residents are loud at times. There are lots of young people who like to drive around with booming music at all hours. Honestly, my building is quiet, but you never know who you might end up living next to. It's definitely a complex where people will just stand around outside. When school's out, there are lots of kiddies running around with little supervison, and that gets annoying.
The entrance gate has been broken since 2005. They should just scrap it and get a new one or tear it down for good. Any type of riff raff can come and go, which adds to the unsafe atmosphere there. They have so-called alarms in the apartments, but the the sound is lower than my alarm clock.
Also, the location is not that great if you commute into Atlanta. When it's cold, parents park along the drive leading into the complex and you have to watch out for kiddies playing in the street. During school, there are two bus stops along Webb Road leading to the main highway. This can get frustrating if you get stuck behind the school bus. Plus you have to drive miles through many traffic signals before reaching the interstate. I know Atlanta traffic in general is a nightmare and it's no different there.
If you want to live in that area, check out Wynthrope Forest, it's more expensive but more than worth it!
