I thought I was the only one

Years at this apartment: 2002 - 2003

I lived in Garden Lake during 2002-03 in the 14 building. They were still building Alexander Falls. I had no complaints what so ever. I loved the view of the lake, my apartment was spacious and there was little rift raft that passed thru. The staff was helpful and there was no turnover in the front office. I eventually moved out of state and then returned to Riverdale. This was March 2007.
I decided to move back to Garden Lake because I remembered what I good living experience I had. I had no problem securing the apartment and was ready to move in. When I arrived in my moving truck with my car in tow on back and wore out from a 12 hour drive, the ladies at the front informed me that they had rented out my apartment and they had another for me and my child to move in. I requested to live in the circle and they rented this apt to someone else and put me and my child on the busiest roadway into the complex. I like peace and quiet so that is why i wanted the circle. The apt they put us in was a nightmare. I have never seen so many roaches in my life. It literlly made me sick. I threw up. I looked behind the fridge and there was a roach colony that made me throw up. I moved out before I moved in. I had to stay in a hotel until I demanded my security deposit and rent back. I had to contact ASLAN in Tenn or KY and get them involved. The front office tried to tell me I could not get my money back. I took pictures of the roaches and of the poor condition of the apt.
I will continue to feel bad for the individuals that i see pulling in and out of GL. They are living in roach infested housing and believe u me, where there is one roach there are a million katrillion. That place is too nice and has too many anemnities for the neighborhood to let this place go down the tubes.
I used to love watching the sunset out on my patio. I faced the lake. Now, There could be dead bodies in the lake for all we know.
