Harmony Bay has to be the most disgusting apartment complex in Roswell. I say that because I can't imagine any place being any worse. First, a former leasing agent by the name of Nicole gives us an unauthorized discount on the rent. The 3 bedroom, 2 !/2 bath townhouse's market rate was $900, the authorized discount was $850, but Nicole gives it to me for $750. WOW, right' Wrong. Nicole has me come in and sign a lease, specifying the rental rate is $750, then she has my roommate go in and sign a lease specifying the rate of $850. Nicole gets fired, but not until we have received a notice on our door 2 months after we've moved in, stating that we have short paid our rent for the past two months and we owe an OUTRAGEOUS amount of money. Come to find out, Nicole trashed the lease I signed and fiked the lease my roommate signed to cover her own boney butt. I had to present the copy of the lease I signed just so they would honor the $750 rental rate.
After signing the lease, I went to view the townhouse. To describe my feelings midly, SHEER HORROR! There were cabinets missing doors, mildew, dead bugs of all kinds, a smell that was undescribable.......it seemed as though the apartment had been vacant for a long time and no one bothered to keep up the maintenance. Signing the lease before viewing the apartment was not a smart move, but my roommate had lived there before and she practically worshipped the place. I quickly notified the leasing office with every single detail of what was wrong with this dump and was told that it'd be fixed that same day. I don't know what was done, but the place still closley resemble the way it did when I first walked in 2 days before. Tired of living with my mom, I moved in anyway.
One day, while in the kitchen, I turned to face this HUGE.....bug....and I do mean huge! It looked like a cross between a cockroach and a grasshopper. I later found out that they are called "Pine Beetles". I called the leasing office to have them spray pesticides 3 different times and it only seemed to make the problem worse. We battled these beetles the entire summer.
It got cold one day, so I turned the heater on, only to realize it was blowing cold air. Maintenance showed up 2 days later. To make a long horrifying story short, the neighbors are loud, nosy, and nasty and the leasing offoce personnel are inconsistent. A package that I had been awaiting for over a month had been sitting in a leasing office closet for 2 weeks before prior to my going to the office to investigate. Yet, a notice for a $.50 short payment on my gas bill was placed on my door and prompt payment was expected. Parking in minimal, the kids in the neighborhood are unruly and would rather get ran over by a passing car rathar than stay on the side of the street instead of in the middle of it. I needn't say more. All one has to do is take a tour of the property and it speaks for itself. If you have an ounce of class, you'd bypass Harmony Bay.
