In the ghetto...

This place was a f**king nightmare, to put it mildly. I should have known the management was inept when their leasing office was burnt to the ground in an arson -- probably set by a disgruntled former tenant, no less. Thats about the level of service you could expect from these people.
In addition to the decrepit buildings, you had roaches (up to 50 scurrying around on my wifes back porch once shortly after she moved into the complex), many strange insects even scientists would marvel over, a management team who wouldnt fix problems (unless you called the parent companys offices), insanely loud music, and above all, tenants who knew all of this so a great number of them blatantly defied any and all rules of the complex knowing nothing would happen. Eviction' Good luck. These guys dont know the meaning of such words, as long as theyre paying the rent. To get anything done about excessive noise or disruptions, you needed to call the Roswell P.D. and hope like hell your neighbors dont think youre the one who called.
Speaking of the cops, in our apartment alone, cops came over not once, but twice with warrants looking for suspects in crimes that had lived there previously. You tell me what to make of that -- pretty damn scary to have them knocking at your door late-night looking for these people. This isnt even to mention, not too long after we finally moved out in 2002, there was apparently a double-murder in the complex. To say I wasnt surprised would be the understatement of the century -- Id lived in fear of something similar happening, especially during the last year of my lease. Now that I think about it, I suppose the Dominos guy being robbed across from my apartment might have had a hand in that assumption -- and it sure made it hell to get pizza.
Did I mention the insanely expensive gas bills' If youre looking for energy-efficiency to keep your bills down, a cardboard box with a vent at the top would serve you better. And dont plan on using your outdoor storage -- the door might come off or youll find neighborhood kids using it as their fort. Nobody here controls their kids.
Granted, 1998 and even 1999 were good years to live there. I enjoyed those years quite a bit, but as soon as 2000 hit, all hell broke loose. If you value your safety, your money, and your sanity, please look elsewhere. This place is going to suck all three out of you, along with your will to live.

The apartments really are SPACIOUS and clean on the inside. They do NOT make em like that now days. Go check them out.. They really are a good deal for the money. Now that JAMCO took over the place really is much better than this poster describes.
