Been here a few years

My first impression was LOVELY. However, it didn't take long to realize that the property staff/managers/maintenance DON'T HAVE A CLUE!!! Repairs have been done shoddily, over and over again. Property staff have no sense of who would contribute to our community and who would not. I'M SORRY, THAT DOES MATTER. The playground has not been upgraded. A park bench that once sat right at the lake's edge behind the leasing office, was so worn and torn and when removed, never replaced. At Christmas, no displays like other apartment communities. No landscape, except minimal in keeping grass cut. Thefts taking place right in the leasing office of tenant's deliveries. Mailbox area, not well maintained or repaired; neither is the carwash. I agree about the fire. And the residents in the fire were treated AWFULLY. Some, not even provided with another apartment. The apartments themselves - WONDERFUL SQUARE FOOTAGE - that I shall miss. The old management didn't give proper notice of their decision to sell. The new owners have instituted a policy that is ABSURD. Every resident has to re-apply, pay a $400 app fee and may or may not be approved; as is the case with a retired couple who has lived in the area for 10 to 12 years. They've been denied approval. I'm told rents are being raised an average of $100 to $200. No consideration given to those of us who have faithfully paid our rent on time, caused no disturbance and keep our properties in good condition. One lady has planted her own garden since living here. She watches other people's children while they are out playing and makes sure they are respectable. She's took 3 family members into her home the night of the fire and found clothing for them from other neighbors. She even approached the woman from the prostitution ring who confronted armed officers (many of them) in front of this woman's apartment (she has children) and told the woman her behavior was life-threatening to residents and disrespectful and she should move. It would be a wonderful place to live if managed properly and fairly. How can a company, in good conscience, let go of tenants who have a proven track record, for tenants not yet known' Makes no sense. LASTLY, AND WHAT WAS ALSO A DRAW TO THE APARTMENT, IS THAT THEY DISCONTINUED TENANT USE OF THE CLUBHOUSE FOR PARTIES BECAUSE OF ONE TENANT'S BEHAVIOR. The community association should become involved in the process of this new management's tactics to assure their interests are best served and to at least keep some of the better neighbors/tenants who appreciate living in the area. Why should we have to reapply and pay a $400 fee if we've proven to be a good tenant' SOUNDS CRIMINAL. My ratings include the new and old owners. k6tKKzmJrmATU2ap682S
