We moved to Archstone Roswell in the spring of 2000, and could not be happier when we moved in. However, we have also witnessed the slow deterioration of our neighborhood in the 3 years we have lived here. In the beginning, the mgmt. was courteous, diligent and happy to help. The mgmt. was then changed for some odd reason. It has been downhill since. Approx. 2001, I inquired as to how I would get satellite TV for my Apt. even though my balcony faced the wrong way. The answer I was given was if the dish is not on your balcony, tough cookies, you couldnt have it. This answer given even as 6 to 12 satellite dishes stand on railroad ties, on poles, on the roofs, all over the complex.
I then inquired as to the illegal dishes, and was told they were working on that. That was 2 years ago. I also asked the new management and get the same answer. Why are they allowed to break the rules without checking with Mgmt. but I have to play by them, because I asked. Dont try to get anything done here within a certain timeframe. Nothing is important enough to get immediate attention. If you go to the office, they apologize, and promise they are on it and after you leave, throw away the message or order. Around September, we were told we have to switch cable services from Charter (who I REALLY liked) to Mediaworks. We were told this is mandatory. The differences are 1. The service is horrible, 2. Digital cable was promised by Dec., but is still not available with no explanation. 3. There is now some stupid archstone channel with no updates, no music, just a plain screen. 4. The mgmt. is now probably getting a kickback from Mediaworks when Charter gave none.
I was going to dog sit my brother pit bull puppy and went to the office to find out stipulations on that. I was informed aggressive dogs were not tolerated in this complex. Once again, the good guy gets burned for asking. Since that altercation, I have viewed 8 to 12 aggressive dogs on this property, 3 of which were unsupervised and off-leash. I am happy I have no children because I would fear for their lives and my well-being. The situation of curbing pet litter, has not and will not be resolved without the implementation of fines. Right now, a weekly letter on everyones door does nothing more but give us more trash to throw away.
I am sure the people upstairs at Archstone do not check these posts, but I put it out there as a warning to all new and potential renters. Buyers Beware!!! There is much better for the money. There needs to be a changing of the property management, but am fairly sure that will not happen. I am still keeping my fingers crossed, however. By the way, be sure your vehicle has an alarm, my system was stolen along with 8 other peoples. Apperently, the third or fourth time they have hit.....
