For everyone complaining about rats, get a cat..or move. I've been living here for almost 2 years. Nobody's perfect. I take it in stride because this is renting. If you want perfection, buy a home. What I like about the property are the grounds, they are very wooded, private and quiet. You have the convenience of a main road with out having to look right at it. I have not seen a rat ever, but I have cats. Things do go wrong. During the renovations, the painters did a hack job and for awhile there was a giant hole in the sheet rock ceiling of the breeze way. It was not pretty to look at, but it eventually got fixed. The leasing office is hard to get in touch with and they seem clueless most of the time. I work in a customer service driven field and its hard to find competent help, what can you do... The biggest compaint that I have comes from the residents who have children and allow them to play in the parking lot with no regards to peoples automobiles or property. I had a car damaged by some brat climbing all over the hood. Then you have parents who block the exit to the complex in the morning and make 400 seem like a holiday. If we were all more considerate to each other, maybe you'd see a difference in your environment. I do have one thing to say about Archstone.. they left me with an leaking AC unit for the 1st year I lived there. They would come, say they "fixed it" but just refill the unit.. never saying I needed a new coil. Centennial maintenance had it fixed in 2 days.

Why should I have to feed and care for a cat I don't want, plus pay their ridiculous pet deposit because THEY won't address a legitimate health hazard? I am allergic to cats. The conditions at Centennial vary enormously from one building to the next. The new part of the complex by the office are in pretty decent repair, but for those of us living on the far side of the lake, it is a slum.

You have your freedom to move. Life is short. If you are that unhappy, move somewhere else. You get what you pay for. The rent at Centennial Ridge is affordable and the location is great. If you're soooo unhappy, MOVE! I have lived here for over a year and haven't seen any rats. Also, maintenance has been very responsive to my requests. The new management actually cares about the property-not like the previous management. I moved here from Buckhead to help save money in rent. I even saw rats at the trash compactor at my previous apartment in Buckhead. Alpharetta is rapidly developing forcing rodents to move into stable areas. Move out of a city if you don't want to deal with rats. I have witnessed a pest control representative installing rodent bait around my building. The management is trying to do something. My lease is up in March and I plan to stay. Some advice to the unhappy neighbors: MOVE, go back to school because you obviously do not know how to spell or properly use grammar(ie: spellcheck), and get something more fulfilling to do with your life besides complain!
