I'M OUT OF HERE!

In brief-I've lived here 5 years (embarrassed to admit it). I've had 2 major floods and 4 small floods. The management team (16 teams ago) left it to me to settle my losses with the careless neighbor. He moved out in the middle of the night and I was never compensated for my losses. I've lived here through the fire...900 building burned to the ground in 2003 due to careless tenant. I was here for the murder...gate was broken and estranged husband stalked and opened fire on wife and new boyfriend. Boyfriend died and wife was badly injured. Lived through identity theft--temps "manning" the office were blamed because no one would work here between 8 and 9 management teams ago. Most recently, I lived through the shootout at my building. Boyfriend of my neighbor got angry after an argument and started shooting aimlessly. 4 Cobb Couty police cars responded. The neighbor was thrown out by the management team 3 teams ago. She is still good friends with the neighbor across the hall and visits frequently. The current mangement team, quote "Are not responsible for previous management teams or their actions".
The apartments are full of mold, grounds are unsafe and management is terrible. It's the Slums at Spring Hill. If you're looking for a good place to live--keep looking.
Almost left out the best part- my screens in the sunroom are ripped to shreds on the outside from the previous neighbors Pit Bulls that ran loose and tried to break into my apartment to get my dogs. I had to file a complaint with the Cobb County police to have this addressed because management ignored all of my complaints.
IF YOU'RE LOOKING FOR SOME GOOD SLUM LIVING-THIS IS THE PLACE TO LIVE!

My name is Deborah Westphal and I am the Regional Manager of Property Management for this community. We represent the owners which purchased this property in 2007. As we try very hard to address all resident issues regarding our communities in a prompt and professional manner, by putting competent and caring associates on site to assist, I would very much like to learn more information about this complaint. Please email me a response to dwestphal@greystar.com so we can investigate and resolve this matter. We have placed an award winning manager at the property as of March 2008 and the service team, is committed to making Colonnade at Spring Hill the best place to live in the Smyrna area.

Survivor 1-GOOD GRIEF! You went THROUGH it. I remember all the things you spoke of because I was there. I lived in the 700 building from 2002-2004 and now, I'm glad I moved! I was online tonight, trying to find the complex's website so I could check the prices-I was thinking that, by now, it was safer and that management had changed for the better but DAYUM. I wonder if the murder happened in the 700 building, because I remember the neighbor that had recently lived below me was part of the reason I got out. She had been battered by her ex, and got away from him in a costly divorce. He was angry because she got the car that he's bought, brand new, and he wanted it BACK. The gate was broken most of the time, so he kept coming in there and showing up at her place all the time. He wasn't the friendliest person; in fact, most of the possees that were ganging up around there were pretty unsavory characters. I remember calling the police quite a few times-if it wasn't for the loud music, it was the ex showing up at the neighbor below me, busting in and whupping her azz. I thought to myself, "He's going to kill her one day". Around the time I decided to leave, it was with good reason. Aside from the flood that caved my ceiling in, the building had become quite eerie being that myself and the neighbor below with the fool-acting ex making red-carpert appearances when he felt like it, where the only two left in the building. All the good people were gone. I remember the 2003 fire too. I was blocked in for over 4 hours because of the news vans, fire trucks and police cars. I still have the pictures. It looked like a movie set.
I also remember that a few months after my leaving, I was watching the news and they were reporting a body being found out there. Just as you said, the ex showed up and decided to start cutting and shooting. The new boyfriend tried to get away, and finally fell and bled to death after making it to the dumpster area. Really sad-you never think the Vinings is capable of housing such a place...
