There is a little truth in every joke my roommate and I make when we refer to our home at Chateau GHETTO. We moved into an "upgraded" apartment. 2 months prior we were quoted one price and moving day/ lease signing day we were told it was more than what we were quoted. Fine. But then not two weeks later I wake up to water leaking on me. We have received 4 emails now rolling into 5 months later saying my leak is fixed...and surprise my ceiling in my room looks like ----. After going to battle with Lane Company about reimbursing me for personal property ruined...

Don't get me wrong the office staff is nice but they are bound by Lane Company as to what they can do to help us out. Let me tell you...The most recent response that I got in regards to my roof is leaking again in the same spot for the 4th time and down the walls so God only knows what kind of mold is reproducing in the insulation was "We fixed your roof...you didn't call me the last time it rained...so it's fixed." My response was well it's leaking now in the same spot..."yeah but you didn't call me the last time it rained..."

Don't live here P0MtU6TIdDkM23RTonAS

Any apartment w/ unlivable conditions warrants that you withhold your rent. The mngt must either move you to a tenantable apt or fix the problem & you don't pay rent until it is done. I promise you, that will get their attention. Read your lease - there is a section discussing their obligations regarding repair of problems. You must pay rent if the problem isn't such as to render the place unfit for occupancy. Otherwise, no $$! Also, notify the health & licensing govt officials to report the situation there.
