One year ago, I was someone just like you reading all these good and bad responses of ratings for these apts. I came from another state due to a job transfer with little time to check out these apts. Well, when I decided on Hickory Lakes, I only decided for myself and not for the well being of my entire family. I came from a great neighborhood back home and my kids were never exposed to the things they have heard and seen at Hickory Lakes. Such as husbands and boyfriends beating on their wives and girlfriends,tenants getting robbed and stabbed, non tenants living at the apts, but we had to undergo a background check, drug relations, mold and mildew within the apts, infested large rats around the garbage bins, roaches throughout the entire bldgs and in the refrigerator, water and sewage leaks from above apts that just fall right down on you, maintenance guys going from apt to apt trying to see how mant times they can get laid, management only contact you when your rent is late, excessive high water bill, and so forth. The point I am getting at is DO NOT MOVE YOUR FAMILY HERE! If management does not live here, why would you' I am proud to have bought a home and relieve my family from this disaster. Please, please think clearly and listen to me. It is not worth the aggravation. Just go around and knock on a few doors and get their feedbacks. Your health is more important than anything else. Just call the health dept if you have any type of mold and mildew in your apts. The heating system is messed up, next door neighbors leave their trash out so the rats can get it, music is very load all day and night. Wanna-be rappers live above you rapping at 3am in the freaking morning when you have to go to work. And this is a very important one....when you call to speak to management(Judy) about the problems whether they are good or bad, you are only screened and flagged by a low job payer receptionist teeling you over and over she is at lunch or not in or she tries her best to answer your questions when she does not even live in Hickory Lakes. They treat Judy as though she is the President of the United States with little experience. When you apply for the apartment, you meet them all, but once you are in, Hell Mary to ya! There are better places than this place. Go to Concord apartments or Cumberland Run or Keeneland apartments. They are great even when your credit is not that good! They are all down the street. I am just trying to help you all. Whatever your decision, please put God first.

I totally agree with everything you said I live here right now and it is hell on earth.
