I have lived her for about two months now. After reading a lot of the reviews below, I feel as if we are blessed with our apartment though there are things wrong with it. We moved in quickly, and I was upset at first but have come to live with it.
Whoever they hired to do the painting did a good job on the wall, but left a lot of paint on the carpet near the trim and elsewhere on the carpet. The place is not very level proiably due to it being an older building; I had to shimmy a lot of our book stands and entertainment stand. Our master toilet does take about 10 sec to flush, and you have to hold the handle down the whole time. I was told from a friend that it could be fixed if they just replaced some of the inside pieces. I have had to kill 2 cockroaches and 1 cricket. However, I believe that I live in one of the older apartment buildings.
One of the reasons why I chose this place is because it is really close to work. I only have about a five minute drive to work everyday. Another reason why I chose this place is because of the new fitness center. They have all new equipment which includes: treadmills, dumbbells, and any kind of machine you would need. The personal trainer there, Ron, is really passionate about his job and is GREAT. Management said that they had a free personal trainer when we moved in. He is there to give you free advise on how to exercise, work out, train, but if you want one on one you will have to pay for it. After three free personal trainer fitness certificates I have paid in order to have one on one sessions with him and he is the best personal trainer that I have ever had.
We did get the upgraded package with our apartment because it would have only cost us about an extra $150 or so for the year. The upgraded apartments include all new stainless steel appliances (stove, refrigerator, dishwasher), granite looking counter tops in the kitchen and bathrooms, and tile looking laminate floors. That put our rent at $715.00 for the first six months and $815.00 for the last six months. Water is a standard fee of $55 for a two bedroom apartment. They said something to the effect that Cobb county or someone has raised their fees on water for apartment complexes so they had to too. Otherwise, we wouldn t have to pay as much for water. The only bad thing about the standard fee is that you don t pay for what you personally use you are paying for everyone s use of the water in your building.
Overall, I am happy with this place. I have seen a police presence here driving around and checking in the fitness building. They have a RENTER REFERAL sign as you drive through the gates of $300. If you contact me griffinft@yahoo.com and put my name down on the referral slip. I will be happy to answer your questions. I will give $150 back to you when I get the $300. I do not know if they will give the referral to me as cash as soon as someone puts my name down or if it just comes off my next moths rent. Nor do I know if you have to stay for a certain period of time in order for me to get the referral bonus.
Do your research and know what appartment you are getting before you sign a contract.
Thank you and good luck apartment shopping,
