ridiculous smoke detectors

Overactive smoke detectors placed too near the kitchen.

You have to buy a fan and aim it directly at the ceiling before you cook anything.

You can hear them going off all day and evening.

The maintenance man told me "most people disconnect them." Wow, that's reassuring.

You better like curry if you live here-lots of ------- and on the weekends the smell permeates everything!

You know, I was actually not going to raise this issue. However, I have observed what you are complaining about and do agree. I "suspect" there are illegal immigrants on this property of Indian descent. They do not seem to own proper keys or access cards to the property. What I was told by one of them is that they were instructed to call one of their brotheren who actually is on lease and that guy would grant them the access. For the money being paid here, for the strict rules and regulations, it is something to consider. Just my opinion.

I'm a resident and have observed similar goings-on. Would either of you like to get in touch offline to discuss more?

I agree with all of these posts. I have been living in this community for less 6 months and I'm disappointed I made the decision to move here. The office staff was extremely friendly at first but now they are rude and a little snotty. I can't keep up with who my neighbors are and I can't figure out why all of them do not have keys or access cards. Besides the fact that the Indian folk above me walk around like 300 lb men and I can hear through convo clearly when I'm in my bathroom, their smoke dectors go off a minimum of 15x/day. That makes me fell extremely unsafe...what are they cooking?! One of these days it might develop into a full blown fire. We've complained several times, but each time it seems like a brudden for the Post employees to actually do anything about it. Also, I'm disgusting by the smell of curry seeping through my walls and the breezeways. You think if you were going to allow 5 people to rent a 1 bedroom apt you would put these similar type of people in one building. They have 0 respect for any other ethnicities and walk right into you or in the middle of the street when you are trying to drive. I feel bad for the children because if their parents don't burn a building down first, they will get them killed by allowing them to run freely through the streets.
