really nice place to live

I've lived here almost two years and for me, this is the best apartment complex I've lived in. A lot of people on here have been complaining about bugs, but I haven't had a problem. I live on the ground floor facing a wooded area and I have no more bugs than I've had at any other place. I've also had no problems with noise or people loitering in the parking lots. Maintenance has fixed any problem I've had within 24 hours. I have two dogs and this is a place I feel safe walking them at night. I can't say the same for other comparably priced apartments. There was a murder here last year but it wasn't random, it was two people who knew each other. Sorry, but that even happens in the wealthist neighborhoods. The landscaping is beautiful, the gym is great, we have twelve tennis courts and seven pools, and a really nice hiking/walking trail which my dogs love. It's also a great location close to 75, 285, and shopping.

The only complaints I have are these: if you have pets, it's a $500 deposit per pet and only $150 of that is refundable. Since I have two dogs I had to put down $1000, which I think is very high. Water/sewage is not included so keep that in mind because that tacks another $25 a month onto the rent. Gas bills are ridiculously high, but that's the case anywhere in Georgia because the gas industry has been deregulated here. So, that means you not only pay the company who supplies your gas, but also the company that owns the gas lines.

When I found out my rent was being raised by $38 a month this year, I started looking at other places. In this area, the only other place I've found that has the same amenities at a comparable price is Calibre Brooke. Since the rent is pretty much the same there as it is here, I've decided to stay. A friend of mine lives at Jasmine Woodlands, which isn't gated, and numerous car break-ins have occured. It is also not very well maintained and the laundry rooms are disgusting. This was pretty much the same at all the other apartments in the area I looked at, unless I was willing to pay $100-$150 more a month than I am now. I don't have a washer/dryer in my unit but the laundry room near me is always immaculate. I know someone can get past the security guard if they really want, but I think people interested in theft wouldn't make the effort when there are so many other ungated complexes in the area.
