I have been living here for over 3 years with good rental history. I inquired about down grading into a 1 bedroom. I was told that I could not rransfer my deposit. The deposit that is on the books will be refunded 30 days after I move into the new apartment. I would have to come up with an additional deposit and first months rent to transfer within the complex. I don't mind paying the new application or transfer fees but an additional deposit, come on please be for real. Because of this, it is going to cause them to loose a good resident to one of their competitors who doesn't even require a deposit. Its not like people are flocking to the village at this time. We only have 2 additional residents in our building. It has been empty for about 4-6 months now. It is a shame to have to move to another location just because of money hungry landlords.
