Okay... I am going to be one hundred percent fair by listing pros and cons.
Pros:
- Beautiful landscaping
- Safe (I know there have been a few crimes, but that's life)
- It is a huge complex so they do have some great amneites to offer such as something like 6 pools, twice as many tennis courts, a gym (although you have to pay to use it), on site dry cleaners, business center (computers and what not), and atm.
Cons:
- Frequently see dog poop and litter that is there for days, even after we have called the office to complain.
- The front gate. It is totally useless and only creates a traffic jam in the evenings. To let a guest in the gate all you do is call the gate, tell them your name and apartment number, and the name of your guest. If you don't do that, they ask the guest for your number and they call and tell you that you have a guest. This means that anyone at the gate could give them ANYONE'S phone number and they would let them in. Or, anyone could call the gate and pretend to live here to get someone in. I've forgotten my remote and all you do is pull-up to the gate house and say "I live here" and they open the gate for you. No ID, no apartment number, nothing. Plus the front gate staff are not the nicest people.
- Noise (we have called "security" many times about noise. We live on the top floor and most recently a single man moved into the apartment below us. He is constantly blasting his music to the point where we can FEEL it through the floor. We have tried nicely asking him to turn it down and requesting security to come out. The only time he actually lowered the volume was when we called the police at midnight one night).
- Charter is the only option for cable/internet. They have terrible customer service.
- Workmanship... This is our biggest complaint. I am sure it varies unit to unit, but our particular apartment is horrible.
1. The wallpaper in the bathroom (who puts wallpaper in a bathroom anyways'!') Started to peel shortly after we moved in. No wonder, because there are THREE layers of wallpaper.
2. Nail pops abound throughout the entire apartment
3. Windows are filthy on the outside
4. There are gaps around the vanity in in both bathrooms.
5. The wallpaper in the kitchen also started peeling shortly after we moved in.
6. The carpeting is cheap and gets completely flat after a few months in the high-traffic areas.
7. Roaches (From the reviews on here that seems like it is a pretty common problem in apartment complexes- it's still gross though. We don't leave any food out that might attract them, but they still come.
8. Insulation sucks. You can hear noise and wind when you get near the windows. They are obviously not sealed well. Heating/cooling bills are on the high side.
9. This is the worst one of all. About 6 months after we moved in we started noticing this gross smell, particularly when it rained. We finally traced it to the corner of the ceiling in the family room. It wasn't something I noticed when leased the apartment, but it is now quite obvious that the plaster on the ceiling in this corner has been redone. No water has actually leaked, but we did get a watermark on the ceiling/wall of the wall the borders this corner. I guess there is some rotting wood or something up there, but frankly, I refuse to have workers traipsing in and out of my apartment for who knows how long to fix it. Even with small maintenance requests I have made, they have never been able to give me even a time range or day they would come, nor have they called before they came like I requested. I have cats and don't want men going in and out when I am not here or when I am here without my husband. They can deal with it after I move out in two weeks.
I think that's about it. OVERALL, I guess it is decent for the price, although I have heard that they went up recently. If that's the case then it's not worth it. If you do look at this complex, just make sure you see the actual unit you would live in and go over it with a "fine tooth comb."
