I think the Village is more than great. It has regular apartment issues like noise from lawn maintenance etc, but overall it's a nice place to live in Smyrna. My boyfriend and I live in the Meadows on the 2nd floor and have a gorgeous view of the gardens. I never have problems with hearing my neighbors except for once when they had several people over for the holidays. Also, the back gate is really convenient.
All of our maintenance issues have been resolved within 3 days of speaking with management.

The grounds are kept very clean, and it is a great place to live if you have a dog (just make sure and pick up after your dog) There are trash cans everywhere. My boyfriend regularly leaves his laundry unattended at the laundry facility and has never had anything stolen. There are jogging trails, 24/7 fitness, and an even better fitness center if your willing to pay a little extra.
But I've lived in 4 apartments in Athens,Ga and the Village at Lake Park is better than most of those. It DOES have a mix of ethnicity's in the apartments, but hey-it's Smyrna. Go drive around-it's like that everywhere.

The staff can be hard to work with occasionally, but it depends on who you talk to. I've had trouble getting the gate openers replaced. Lately, they seem to have fixed those problems.
Washer and dryers ARE in some of the units, but you pay more. The laundry facility is pretty easy and affordable.

Overall, it is a very nice, quiet and enjoyable place to live. I like the Meadows area because there is a garden in between all of the apartments, so it's more isolated. We never have trouble parking.
Also, go for the upgraded apartments. It's worth the money. Ours is renovated and has new appliances, nice flooring, and new carpet. It's a 1 bedroom renovated apt, and we pay $689.00 a month.
Check it out for yourself first, then see what you think. The other people on here just want to complain. It really is NOT that bad. I'd recommend it to my single girl friends who live alone. It's a great, nice, safe place to live.

I think it depends on what section you live in. I live in the Gardens, and I also have a one bedroom renovated apt...I pay 704/month. And I use the laundry facility all of the time. For the past 3 months, I have had to go to the Meadows to put money on my card because our machine has been out. And I have personally had numerous items taken from my laundry. All of which were underwear. Complaining....no...facts...yes. But I will agree...it's better than most for the price. Is it as good as it used to be...definitely not.
