Great place to live!

When I was apartment shopping I turned to this sight and was scared out of my mind to move anywhere. Then I realized that most people who write reviews are generally having a bad experience and need a voice. Most people with a good experience don't take the time to share. My experience has been great and I wanted to share!
I moved to Smyrna from out of state, and because of that I wasn't familiar with the area not sure which roads to avoid or what apartment complexes had a bad reputation. Safety was my top priority in finding a new apartment. With that said, I basically had to go by what little information research could tell me, and my own gut instinct. When I came to visit The Village at Lake Park, I liked that the community was gated not only to cars, but to walkers as well and has a Smyrna Police Department substation in the apartment. Obviously neither measure is a guarantee you are safe from all, but everything helps! In addition to the safety factor, the complex was above the rest for the price range I was looking at ($600-800 for 1bdr). The layout of the community is very nice, clean and quite large. The apartment itself on the inside is nice, the bedroom is a good size, the closet is huge and the living room is cozy with a fireplace accent! The few things that I had complaints about when I moved in were all fixed in a timely manner and everyone I dealt with for those issues was pleasant. I joined the gym (which is an additional fee, one of my only cons) and it's a great facility. So far it's not been crowded, and the other residents have been courteous.
The cons, are few, but because it's not a perfect world, are there. I think the kitchen cabinetry could use an update. Right now it's a little cheap looking, not dirty or broken, just lower-end quality. All of the kitchen appliances are new however, which I would take over nicer cabinets if given the choice. Life is full of little trade offs. The gym is a small fee, but they offer more than most gyms in apartment complexes, like group classes and the building is quite large. Lastly, I have a loud upstairs neighbor who should really live in a lower level unit, where stomping isn't a big deal! However, I'm aware this isn't through the fault of the apartment complex, so I deal.
Great place to live, I would definitely recommend it to anyone!

You haven't been there long enough to have a valid opinion, in my opinion! My husband and I finally moved out of this crap-hole &... get this... we found an id card for an imigrant tucked in the corner of our master bedroom closet. Tell me, how does something like that get there???? When we moved in I was the one who got the apt. ready & cleaned, that id was NOT there when we moved in!!!
