It looks like the same person just keeps posting the same comments over and over. Sheesh. Just to clarify, I'm not a staff member. Like you, I do think there are improvements that need to be made on this property. We need to take a step back and look at the bigger picture.

The broken gate:
The management really breaks the gate just so you can call them 100 times a day. Yeah, sure. That's it. It takes time to get someone scheduled to fix things like that.

The children:
If you hate kids so much, move to a property that doesn't allow families to move in, because that is so legal (see Fair Housing regulations). Personally, I feel much more comfortable in a place where the children are able to play together outside and not live in fear. So you have a problem with kids playing football in the curve. You should be driving 5-10 mph anyway, so what's the problem' Toot the horn, they'll move. You don't like all the kids at the pool' They are on summer break, let them be kids. So the kids are rude and unruly' What are you saying to them' Do you start out by yelling or do you politely ask for them to quiet down' Hmm.

Pit bulls:
Well, I have one woman in my building that has one and, yes, she is sometimes off the leash. But this is one of the friendliest dogs I have ever met. Even my roommate, who is extremely afraid of dogs, can tollerate this animal. the owner always is within grabbing reach of her dog. And you could always ask her to leash the dog. She will comply, she always does.

Noisy neighbors:
Quiet hours at most properties are between the hours of 10 pm & 8 am, Sunday through Thursday with a little difference on the weekends. You should ask about that.
The you should remember - It's an apartment building, not a house. If you want a house, get a house. Until then, know that the people above you will walk, talk, watch tv, have guests, sometimes run, and listen to the radio. If they are excessive, then it's YOUR responsibility to FIRST go over there, knock on the door and politely ask them to quiet down a bit. Only if you don't get a response should you start getting the management involved. These are the rules of conflict my friend. (1)You confront the person in a friendly way, (2)then you get assistance from another source, (3)then you go higher up the ladder. After all, you are adults right' I mean, I have a neighbor that works on his car over the weekend and really cranks up the radio sometimes. I go out there and ask him to turn it down and he always does. Imagine that. But you know what else' I actually chat with my neighbors when I see them in the hallway or in the parking lot. I know who they are and they know me. This makes conflict resolution go much the way I would like it - smoothly. actually knowing someone's name makes a difference.

Staff changes:
Yeah, the staff has changed quite a bit. Yeah, they drop the ball on a lot of things. This happens to me too. But get real, these are low-paying entry-level jobs, usually not the career choice they dreamed about since childhood. They are trying to make it the world just as you are. Have a little patience. Show a little kindness. Kindness usually brings out the best in others, especially when you want something to get done.

Work orders:
There is something like 400-450 apartments here. That's well over 1000 people living in our neighborhood. There are, I think, 3 maintenence folks, right' You do the math. My old roommate was much like some of you, I suspect... She called for a lightbulb, for the toilet being a little clogged, for the drain being low, for there being a stain on the carpet, for the AC making noise, for the grass being too green. Man! I finally had to tell her this: We do not live in a hotel! They are not here to change our light bulbs and unclog our slow drains! If you lived in a house, YOU would be responsible for those things. The same is true here. For crying out loud! You are the one who clogged up the drain; pick up some drain cleaner at the store. You are the one using the light bulbs; pick up a light bulb at the store. You are the one who spilled coffee in the carpet; clean it up yourself. Are you disabled or handicapped' Only then should you require the services of maintainence for such common needs. And the AC is a large machine, it's going to make some noise!

Sounds like you need some training on customer service! The residents pay YOUR salary! You have a serious problem with your attitude towards your job. You are obviously unhappy with your "entry level" job but after all, YOU chose it! Deal with it!

This review was also on "The Village at Lake Park" apartment complex. I think the managements are getting together and creating a conspiracy.
