My husband and I moved here when we first got married in 02/09. It started out nice enough. There was a good mix in terms of ethnicity and overall everybody was considerate and respectful. Unfortunately, all of the good people moved out and ghetto people started moving in. The next thing I knew, St. Ives became a living nightmare. People will put their trash bags on top of the car instead of in the trunk. They'll forget about it, it'll fall off and bust and they don't bother to do anything about it. Management is ineffective at handling complaints and enforcing their own policies. When we 1st moved here there was a crossbar preventing entry but it would break all the time. They used to be quick about repairing it, but now they have just left it wide open for anybody. I expressed my concern to management (a complete waste of time) and I was assured that it was on the budget for the 1st half of 2009 to get a mechanical gate. Well, it's September 09 and there is no gate, no crossbar, nothing. They sent out notices back in July saying they would be reactivating the crossbars. That never happened, of course. I repeat; management is terrible. I prefer to call them "Non-Management". My kitchen faucet became loose and I tried to submit the complaint online but was unable; so I went to management. They told my husband that they won't get to it right away b/c A/C problems were their priority. We repeatedly went to management to get help to either file the maintenance request online or for them to at least get it done for us to no avail. When I finally was able to submit the request electronically, I have yet to receive even a phone call and it's been a week. I've had to call the cops on noisy neighbors upstairs who decide to have loud, wild parties late at 2am. Of course, management did nothing about it despite our complaints. The police are over there all the time (roadblocks, gang activity, break-ins, drug deals and, yes, even MURDERS). We used to live in College Park and moved to Stockbridge to get away from the 'hood. St. Ives is Stockbridge's project paradise. My husband works at night and I am fearful of being home alone at night. We do not feel secure at all and are totally fed up with this place. We have already given our notice and will be leaving the second our lease is up. I wouldn't even recommend this place to my worst enemy. Unless you enjoy living among ex-cons and drug dealers, St. Ives is NOT for you!

Honey I feel your pain. The problem of course is with the people who work in the office. They are non professionals who just have a job and do it the only way they know how. They are scums and they probably live in the same environment so to them its no big deal. I lived there last year and i filed over 10 complaints, with maintenance. Problems ranging from leaks to roaches. the first time it leaked i woke up walking in water it took 1 month and me calling(harassing) them to finally get someone out. still was not fully repaired. i went home to a stink apartment and would have to leave to sleep at y boyfriends. Be warned, they will come 3 months before your lease ends to try to be nice (the ugly, short muff!) i can't stand her. I was so happy to tell them go to H...!
