I don't remember the exact dates I lived at Winnstead, so my dates entered are guesses. (I know my husband I moved when our lease was up here and moved to an apartment closer to where we were building our home in Henry county. So I just stuck in some numbers so I could complete this post.)
The management changed while I lived here. Management before the change was very efficient and friendly. When High Ass. came in, within a couple of months ALL but one of the staff left. A maintenance guy they hired thought his job consisted of wearing a skin tight shirt to show off his 2 chest hairs and gold chain and hang out by the pool sunning himself while watching chicks - even though he was a married guy with a couple of kids. Think his name was Alex or something like that. Never fixed a single thing that we requested. Always had to call multiple times. Attempts to fix whatever the problem was were made only after threats to call and/or calls were made to managment company. Several goofups were made by office staff in processing rent payments. WHAT A NIGHTMARE!
My apartment's carpet was old, dirty, raggedy when I moved in. I was told that it would be replaced, but in came High and it never was. I paid to have it professionally cleaned 3 times, but cleaning never put the nap back into that worn out, stinky rug. And like another poster here, when I moved in, the carpet was wet because of cleaning it right before my move-in which I had scheduled 2 months in advanced.
A woman named Hope was manager when I lived there. She must have come from High Ass.'s Section "Bankrupt" properties because she ran the office and community like she was a slum lord. She was a total BI-ATCH! Hateful. Rude. Unfriendly. A friend of mine also lived in the complex and when she moved, she was charged a chunk-o-change for things like 'dust on the blinds' and for other items that were listed as dirty or damaged but they were really things that never got fixed or replaced by her, even after several requests in writing to Mz. Hardass.
There was always a problem with neighboring apartment community kids and people wandering in using the pool.
I had to call the police a couple of times while there. Once for a group of black kids ganging up on one white kid and trying to beat him up. Another time I was jogging and saw a couple of punks hanging out in the playground area. one playing with matches looking like he was trying to set the wood chips used as a ground cover on fire while the other one was tearing up the swing. Drive thru homey's too.
Hubby and I were more than happy to move when our lease ended. Living here with Hardass Hope motivated us to build our own home and get out of having to deal with the likes of managers like her and companies that employ them.
