... the apartments are not that bad.... Keep in mind that before you sign a lease they will be extremely nice and helpful and after that they WILL NOT CARE. As what I did and all other apartment hunters should do, demand to see the apartment first. DO NOT sign a lease to an apartment that you have not seen most landlords will show you a "similar" one and end up giving you something different. I lived here when I was a kid and somehow ended up coming back...

I saw two different ones here before agreeing to the one Im in. Many of the apartments are run down and need updates. Yes there are break ins so I suggest living upstairs. Get to know your neighbors too. Apparentley I was living next door to some of the theives! But hey- I had nothing to worry about because I was cool with them. When I first moved in I was scared to turn off the lights because of the infestation. Calling the office will not do anything so buy some Borax and sprinkle everywhere. I clean and wipe everyday and have not seen a roach or ant since the first two weeks I moved in.

There are lots of little kids and teenagers that run around in the afternoon and weekends so there will be noise. Except for the occasionally loud music andcars driving by it was okay. Something is up with the mailboxes though so I suggest a PO Box. My walls are painted white as well as my doors so I do not have wallpaper anywhere. Pay your rent every month on time and go about your business. Things you should check before you sign the lease:

Flush the toilet. Some toilets dont work.
Turn on lights. Have them switch dead bulbs to ensure circut works.
Look in showers, turn on sinks.
Look under sinks and even toilet paper holders!
Check kitchen drawers I still have one yet to be replaced.
Look in dishwasher
Check shelves in closet.

The gas bill is atrocious!!! By blankets, lots of them. lol They use catalyst over here and you get charged stupid fees so I dont even turn the heat on. I have visited friends in other apartments here and boy did I do a good job on finding a good one!! The lease is very short term for me so if you need a place to stay for a long time I do not suggest here.
