I've been in Timber Trace for about 4 years; I'm still here only b/c it's convenient to everything. Things were good for the first 2 1/2 but it's gone straight to hell.
The gate is always broken; anyone can go in and out all times of the day and night. There have been cars stolen, burglaries, peeping toms, attempted rapes and carjackings; and not to mention a late night shooting that's never been solved (or at least we haven't been told any differently.) Several cars in my section have been vandalized by spray painting, windows broken & tires have been slashed and sugar in tanks. Management always put those meaningless notes in our doors stating that DeKalb County is investigating and will up the patrols, but in my 4 years, I've never seen a patrol car in the complex until it's too LATE. And we're never notified or updated about any of the crimes that occur. You just kinda hear things word of mouth from your neighbors. Management is quick to put a note in your door about a late water bill or putting your trash out too early, but they won't trim your hedges or do any other type of maintenance until you put a nasty letter in with your rent check.
Someone from maintenance will show up within about 20 minutes of you calling, they'll tell you it's fixed, but then someone else will have to return, only to find out the 1st person didn't do squat!!!
I have enough space for what I pay, but my sanity and safety isn't worth the space. And of course with each new lease you sign, they go up a minimum of $40 (at least for me!)on your rent. I've started looking for a new place to live before something tragic happens to me or my family. Anyone who's considering this hell hole, should think twice. Don't be fooled or taken in by these so called specials they run. You'll definitely be disappointed.
