Nightmare at Village at Stone Mountain

Years at this apartment: 2003 - 2003
I am currently living in this nightmare and I read everyone's review all I can say is I agree with every comment and I wish I had known about this site before I wasted my money. Please if you want a decent place to live and you pass VASM RUN! RUN! RUN! AND DON'T LOOK BACK!! Not only was my check stolen in March and I was given a late notice, they dated the letter for the previous day, gave me until 6:00 that day to pay and the letter was hand-delivered to me at 6:30. They didn't even tell me until I sent a letter to my Congressman requesting that they investigate them for losing my check and then asking me to pay them a late fee. It took me a month to get a mailbox key. When I moved in there was a hole under my sink, the cold water wouldn't come on in my kitchen, there were no knobs on my stove, my toilet seat was broken, my bedroom walls were half painted and still are, the carpet wasn't vacuumed, and the bathrooms still had trash on the floor. My icemaker still doesn't work properly and every time I put in a maintenance request they claim they don't have keys to my apartment, which they've re-keyed because the key they made didn't work. No shock b/c the maintenance staff is really the biggest joke aside from the indoor pool that hasn't worked since I moved in last year. There's glass on the tennis courts, which is fine since there aren't any nets on them. It is home to the finest hoodlums and ghetto fabulous drug-dealers in Stone Mountain. People are constantly blasting their music in the wee hours of the morning. They will even park their cars in front of the building while their music shakes the pictures on your wall. Forget calling a courtesy officer because you?ll see him as often as you would the tooth fairy. My neighbor has turned the parking area into his own personal car lot with 5 non- working vehicles parked in our spaces. The management office only knows how to fill out papers to move you in b/c they can't complete a work requests nor has any of them ever taken a course in Grammar. I?ve faxed them letters and they?ll get the letter call me say they?ll fix something then get sudden memory loss when you ask why maintenance hasn?t found your apartment. The "controlled-access" gates are open all day everyday. The trash is constantly overflowing. The manager, whoever he or she is this month, is always in a meeting, that is if they even bother to pick up the phone. This is the worst apartment I have ever lived in. If you think about moving in, save yourself the trouble and just take your money and set it on fire or give it away you'd get better use out of it!!!!
