What's leaking now'

After initially moving in in July 2006, I have had nothing but problems with my apartment at the Village at Stone Mountain. After walking through the apartment, I noticed there were things that needed to be fixed and patched up. For instance, the drains would leak under the counters and the dishwasher didn't work. I thought that maybe these problems were caused by the previous tenants, and I didn't make anything of it at that point. After a few months, I am ready to move far away from the Village. The walls have an excessive amount of paint on them and crack on frequent occasions. The apartment has flooded at least 4 times in which I can remember. One time, I called maintenance out to fix a leak. As usual, I called the leasing office during normal business hours and was connected to an after-hours answering service. After leaving a few messages with the answering service, my call was finally returned. Maintenance came on a Friday to repair the leak from upstairs which was causing the flooding in my apartment. This job was completed. After maintenance left, carpet cleaners came to replace damaged, wet carpet. The carpet cleaners took 20 and vacuumed most of the water up. Before leaving, I was told they would return Monday to replace the carpet (that was now torn up from the floor) and to clean the carpets in the rest of the apartment. Monday finally arrived, no word from the carpet cleaners of the leasing office. Four weeks later, the leasing office finally sends someone out to replace the carpet. The section of carpet of was replaced, but the apartment was not cleaned as promised. Go figure! I still have many problems with this apartment.

I believe the Village at Stone Mountain should be shut down, quarantined and marked unfit for suitable living.
