Village at Stone Mountain
< | >
Yes, Hampton Village and the Village at Stone Mountain are the same apartments. The apartments does have a roach problem. I keep my apartment clean so I dont see them that often and when I do I let the office know. They have exterminators that come out on tuesdays and thursdays; most of the time. Honestly, I think that alot of atlanta apartments have a roach problem; the roaches roam the streets in certain neighborhoods in atlanta so it's hard to avoid them. There has been a few break ins. Dont live on the ground floor at ANY apartment in ANY major city. Some of my electric outlets never worked since day one. I have a two bath apartment and both of my bathrooms have mode on the tub. The gym is only open when the leasing office is open so we do not have a 24 hour gym. If you're depending on the bus this isnt the best neighborhood even though there is a bus route. As far as the neighborhood goes,$hit happens. Mostly break ins. If you can afford to get an alarm I would advise it. I havnt heard of anybody getting robbed at gun point. But, this complex isnt located in new orleans, miami, compton, brooklyn, westside of chicago, or baltimore. This is stone mountain,ga. Yes there's crime in stone mountain, but it's not notoriously known for crime. Like I said early $hit happens. I grew up in Detroit so I know there's worst places out there. I can honestly say that for a complex that charges 475 to 780 a month its not a bad apartment complex. Yes the apartments have problems, but if you go to the city of atlanta for the same price you'll be in a worst neighborhood. When I first moved here and the complex was called village at stone mountain the gate was always broke. Every since the new management came they fixed the gate and its been working every since. Now on Friday and Saturday nights there will be alot of traffic to get into the apartments due to alot of visitors being stuck at the gate trying to get in. This also calls a delay for people who actually live here to get inside the community. Lately they been leaving the gate open on friday and saturday nights so there wont be a massive wait to get into the community. Bottom line if your budget is 475 to 780 this is a good apartment for the price, but you will have to be open minded. At that price you cant expect perfection, in my opinion. If your budget allows you to spend more money then dont move here. PS. Get renters insurance. In the metro atlanta area apartments catching on fire is a common story on the news in atlanta. and PS #2...A friend refered me to this complex and he was suppose to get a 300 dollar bonus. I been living here for 16 months and we still trying to get that $300. If they're offering some kind deal like that...it's --------...PS #3 if you decide to walk to the store, jog, ect make sure you watch out for dog $hit. alot of people have dogs and none of the owners cleans up the mess..I havnt step in any dog $hit yet (knock on wood) but there's alot of it out there on juilette rd (the main road).

Thanks for posting this! I really wanted to rent a two bedroom out here, the model that I was shown was so spacious. I even asked Radanro (spelled wrong) if they had roaches, and of course he said NO! I actually found another complex off Glenwood called Hidden Woods, im going to move there instead.

I posted the last review. I had to add some extra comments. Hampton Village is not unlivable. You just have to be open minded. The apartments are spacious. Three of my neighbors on the bottom floor had break ins. Two out of the three had a break in within their first month living here. Dont live on the ground and basement floor. Alot of my outlets never worked. I'm use to it now. When I first did the walk through of my apartment I never noticed that both of my bedrooms didnt have any lights. The bathroom inside the bedrooms has lights which lights up the bathroom area. The actual bedrooms has a light switch with no lights; there's nowhere to install a light bulb!!! I been using lamps so I'm use to it now. But, remember I only have a few outlets to work with since half of them dont work. Alot of times I have to unplug my alarm clock so I can plug in my iron. If I would of noticed that during the walk through I would of never moved here, but it was a sunny day outside...plus I would of never thought to check that. Also I read a comment refering to alot of trash being on the ground by the dumpster. That's a true statement. On the weekends the dumpster overflows and you have to put the trash on the ground. On all weekends there's lots of trash on the ground. Remember I said in my other post that alot of neighborhoods in Atlanta has roaches roaming the area. Now, if we have lots of trash on the ground 2 - 3 days out of the week the roaches already know where to go. Don't get an apartment by a dumpster if you decide to move here. The crazy part is they charge you $3 a month for trash fees. I know $3 isn't alot, but they just started charging people a trash fee recently. There has not been any improvement to our trash problem. So why are we paying $3? Another thing that's funny to me is when you first drive through the gate there's a sign that points you in the direction of certain areas. For example pool, leasing office, ect. Im not sure if the sign is still up, but if it is let me be the first to tell you that this community does not have a car wash nor do we have an indoor swimming pool here. When I first moved here people laughed at me when I asked where the complex car wash was at. Then I showed them the sign. This neighborhood does have alot of factory jobs close by. some are out in the open and some are hidden on the side streets. That may be useful to some people. There's also a church down the street on juliette rd. The complex isn't far from strokers and the velvet room if you want to go out, but dont want to drive far. Plus, this is the only community I ever lived in that DID NOT try to increase my rates when it was time to renew my lease. They already know what's up!!! I dont consider this neighborhood unsafe regardless of the break ins. Even if you look at other reviews from people that live at more expensive apartments in atlanta they're also complaining about break ins. As far as I know the break ins are happening while people are not home. If you decide to live on the bottom floors you NEED renters insurance from day one. I been living here for the past 18 months and I havnt heard of anybody getting shot at in this complex; I read that in another review. I never seen any broken glass on the ground so there cant be to many car break ins, if any. My next door neighbor, a retired citizen, drives a jaguar and nobody never mess with his car. He's been living here for about a year. The leasing office has always been helpful unlike other apartments I have lived at. Sometimes I have to talk to them twice about the same issue, but the situation gets handled the second time around when it comes to that. So like I said before you have to be open minded. For the price of the apartments you will take a lost in quality. Your guest wont notice and theyll think you're living in a nice area because the apartments dont look bad. The neighborhood is decent. Im open minded so I'm some what ok with these apartments as long as they dont raise my rent, but I have a room mate and he hates it here. Just take the info that I gave you in this post and my last post dated 9/13/2009 and make the best decision for yourself. Also the best thing before you move into any apartment is to make a Friday or Saturday night time visit if you can.
