Five Oaks is Great... BUT BE AWARE there are ISSUES!!!

On every level from the grounds (aesthetically pleasing/clubhouse is fabulous), maintenance (calls answered/solved within 24hours), atmosphere (relaxing a place to call "home"), safety (gated with courtesy officer on grounds), neighbors (cordial with NO loitering RIFF RAFF), convenience (the property sits on 285 at the Lawrenceville Hwy exit).
However, no place is perfect, the construction team did a poor job sound-proofing the apartment. So if you don't like hearing consistent bumping - ask for a suite away from KIDS! You will hear everything. Its the most annoying nusiance - and really its not the neighbors as much as its an issue with construction. Management hears about it so much they tell you they will call/write letter to your neighbor - but they don't. They know its a construction problem and telling you that they will do anything - is really to just appease you.
Another issue with Five Oaks/Worthing Properities is they CHANGE leasing staff OFTEN. Its frustrating to develop a rapport with staff and just two weeks later there is new staff - from the leasing agents to the property manager. Its horrible having to re-explain things - so make sure you document EVERYTHING in your file. Changing staff as often as Worthing does can complicate things for residents who like to the leasing staff to know them. And as you know with each "new" staffer comes a new attitude and outlook on customer service - regardless of corporate policy.
Try not to stay in the builidngs in the rear (building 8) its remote and experiences lots of break-ins. Especially the lower-floor level apartments. Five Oaks is great but less than 1/2 mile are severeal apartments that I would consider sub-par living. Five Oaks can look very appealing to unsavory people in these apartments and tempting for break-ins. Building #8 is the most remote and easy target.
There are MORE and MORE kids moving in. They are beginging to distroy the living environment with the loitering outside as well as in the clubhouse. The clubhouse is very nice - was very nice. its designed for adult enjoyment with complimentary coffee, flat screen tv, conference room, lounging area with pool table. BUT the KIDS are destroying it. Things are ALWAYS broken. The staff can't seem to effectively manage the kids. They "tell" the parents but these days parents are not very attentive - the clubhouse is a get-away for the kids. They are in a nuisance. And the staff's answer is to shut lock-it down at a certain hour - punishing both the responsible residents and the riff-raff. Not the BEST answer in my opinion.
I just left in 2007 - but while I was there 2005 - 2006 it was great. After the new property manager came it went down hill - EVERYONE started leaving. A literal MASS EXODUS, so much that the new property manager had to bring in a "CARES TEAM" to corrale the long-standing tenants and hear their concerns. Overwhelmed by the changing environment the mass exodus continues.... let the kids, strippers and LeCordon Bleu students have it.

This had to come from an employee at Five Oaks. The pictures that are shown are old. If you visit Five Oaks you can see that Image 2 shown above of the gazabo has been painted white over a year ago. There is plenty of RIFF RAFF living here. They need to do a criminal background check on the people that they let move in. More like a house payment than rent. The mangement and maintenance are over all nice people just doing their jobs.

Wow.... Let me get this straight.. If you were so unhappy why did you stay almost 3 years??? We must be looking through two different lenses. I am a current resident here and I honestly think the manager is doing the best job she can. Surely you must know that one person can not save the world, Nor is any place perfect.. I can Honestly say the office staff genuinely cares about the issues that have occured at the community and they have made every effort to make me feel comfortable and safe. I have been a resident for 2 years and I plan on renewing for a 3rd year

Wow?? I don't know what part of this complex you live but, I do have to agree with the others. Planty of RIFF RAFF, LeCordon Bleu students and (what seem to be ) strippers. I took my kid to the pool once this summer to never again go back there for as long as we are here. German roachs anyone???? Does the leasing office care??? I don't think so!!! I want to take my family to a safe place to live and call home. NOT FIVE OAKS!!!
