I thought I'd follow up on this place since my incident in 2007.

It was an attempted robbery on the grounds that resulted in a shootout.

I can still hear Porsche trying to downplay the incident in a meeting between residents and Dekalb Co.

Police.

The place is not safe, security is inadequate and some of the residents are questionable.

For what you pay, you can do much better elsewhere.

But then again, perhaps this is the lace for you.

If you're a shootist, as I am, which enabled me to save my own life that October evening when I had a gun shoved in my face, you may enjoy the nocturnal activities.

Where can you go where criminals lurk and provide themselves as moving targets when they attempt to escape as they shoot at you!' Read the reviews folks.

You lived there over a year ago and you're still posting comments... Get a Life Dude!!!!. I actually watched the entire incident from my balcony... I have to wonder what you where up to at that time of night????? I have lived there for almost 3 years without incident. Yes incidents can happen anywhere but the staff is very attentive and they go out of their way to keep us aware of issues, they can not control the moral decay of the world.. Five Oaks is still a great place to live and next year I will probably purchase a home, but in no way can I say anything negative about the staff or community at Five Oaks..

To Anonymous (the staff at Five Oaks), Get a life? I almost lost mine at Five Oaks! (as I was returning from closing my business for the evening). This is the type of response you can expect from management at this complex after such an incident. An attempt was made on my life during an attempted robbery and they (Anonymous? - (Five Oaks) ) say 'get a life'. I would strongly suggest that anyone considering this place reconsider. These two responses contradict every negative comment about Five Oaks that I received from other tenants after my experience there, including break-ins (one of which involved a kicked in door in my building), car theft and other shootings, domestic violence, etc. ! They screen perspective tenants, but not who's living with the applicants. To quote Anonymous: 'moral decay of the world'?? That certainly explains the indicent(s) at Five Oaks. Contrary to Five Oaks may think, the purpose of my initial review was not to smear Five Oaks, as though I have some kind of grudge, only to state facts. I challange Five Oaks to deny the indicent, either here or in a court of law.

As a resident, I have to disagree with Stayawayfromhere2007! I also am aware of the incident that, by the way was not reported to the office until the Manager contacted the resident. In addition, after speaking with the resident, there are details that he left out of his comments. I chose to move to Five Oaks because of the staff, the social calendar, and the other pleasant residents that I have come in contact with. There is nothing negative that I can say about Five Oaks!!
